Hey,
This is just a idea. How much will it cost to buy the whole junkyard including the land? Maybe we can start a donation to help buy the whole yard. I bet mazda, nissan, bmw and any car guys will help. We could maybe do it!

$5 a person.. add up quick!

Well, its a thought. The reason that the yard is closing though is that the city of Maricopa is over running it. Even if someone elso bought it and refused to sell, the developers out there would likely take it by eminant domain. Besides, the lot is already sold to the developers. Plus its a huge yard. I'm told that its the largest yard in the western US.

You bet. I didnt see any Ford Prefects out there for you unfortunately. Do you guys know why I can post a slide show in the area 51 test section but not in here? I dont get it. Im using photo bucket. I've got about 50 more pictures but I feel kinda bad using up so much space to do. Heres a link to the area 51 test thread if you want to see the slide show.

So, FcDrifter13, if we can get enough people interested and if we can line up a truck... do we still have 20 acres in West Virginia to ship about 12 cars to?

If you east coast guys are interested, then now is the time to jump. The guys at the yard said that they were going to start crushing cars soon and that they were going to start on the import side.

If there are any local people interested: Ca Nm Az Nv etc. We can help to offset the cost of buying a "lot" of cars.

JeasusCookees, have you been able to contact that lot here in Phoenix?

We should start a roll call.
FcDrifter13: 2 Starions? a 510? 2 dr, 4 dr or wagon? (maybe)
13b4Me: Rx3, rx4, 510, 240 Z (maybe)
goopy: 808 or yellow GLC or both...? (maybe)
andrewdruiz: 2 Door 510 of Rx3 or Rx2 (maybe)
nutbagsan: 2002? Rx2? 510? (maybe maybe maybe)

So thats 5 cars if each of you wants to jump on just one of the cars that you have mentioned. I need to check the other forums that I have this up on as well. There are a lot of people interested. I don't know how many are actually going to go through with it though.

BanzaiToyota: You should definately call the yard to see if they will ship to you.

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm not trying to rope you into anything. And I don't want to speak for any one. I'm just trying to move forward.".

Well I talked to A couple more places and noone wants to ships mainly because you cant drive them up on a trailer. Talked to Maverik and again and told them what the whole deal is and then they said it was a no go, be cause parts may fly off the cars in transit and then there insurance would have to pay for it. So right now I am completely out of ideas.

But there is one very drastic thing left. One big *** road trip. Get a group of guys with small pickups and dolleys and go out and tow them back, that is the only concivable way now. The trip is three days out and three days back. I wouldnt mind leading a convoy out there, but my licsence has been revoked. Dont ask to long of a story. Just ask Pele, when he came to pick up the 7 my mom had to cart me around and I felt like a complete moron. So i cant go, and besides my truck took a ****.

Or you could do this. Rent a spot. Thats what I was doing with the 7. You rent a parkin spot at one of these mini storage places and just have the car towed there until you are able to go and get it or have it shipped.

Ill try to think of some more stuff. Sorry the big rig idea fell though, bunch of *** holes.

Damn. Somebody put in a call to Leno. Gorgeous project cars for as far as the eye can see.

Truly depressing.

what a heartbreak, if someone I have about a acre in Nor-Cal if someone needed to store some for awhile. I also have a 24ft enclosed haulmark car hauler. but nothing to pull it with on top of the fact its full. Push come to shove I could try make it available for a noble cause. I have a friend with a shop in Barstow, but am already pushing my luck with 2 REPUS and 2 First gens stored. How are their prices on parts? might be worth a trip there for some stuff.
