26B 4rotor...

now, i'm just curious, but i searched the forum with the keywords, "four rotor write up" and didn't really get back what i was thinking would be what i need...so i wanted to ask if anyone here knows anything about putting together four rotors, and how EXTENSIVE it is. i know they're probably a HUGE pain in the *** and costly as ****, but again, i'm just curious, thanks.

Give KIWI RE in New Zealand a call.

I am sure they can explain it in much more detail.

$14,000 US dollars. That's a steal. I've spent way more than that on my 3 rotor.

Check out Jeff20B's "ghetto 4 rotor build" in the first-gen section to get an idea of what it's like. It's not done yet, though.

why the **** are they so expensive? why can't you just slap an extra pair of housings in there with two extra rotors, and have a shaft machined for you? seems it'd be easier that way...or atleast cheaper...but maybe i'm missing something,

If you can afford a four rotor and all the accesories to make it run. ( custom intake/exhaust manifolds) Then you can afford 4 new housings with great rotors.

yeah...well i'm thinkin' it'd be cheaper to just make one yourself, so you're not paying $26k for someone else putting one together with top shelf parts. some of us manage on a budget,

if you could make a comparable block for ~15K USD, you'd be making some pretty good money. I don't think that you could.

http://cp_www.tripod.com/rotary/pg27.htm, this **** seems to have it goin' on...all self fabricated, and not a REAL 4 rotor per se, but two 12a's, or 13B's slapped together, any thoughts??

Thats NZ$26K, with the current exchange rates that is under US$15K!!!

US$15K is a bargain for a peripheral port 26B!!

Remember thats the bare block with no intake, management, ignition, SUMP, exhaust, belts, alternator etc etc you could easily chuck another $20000 (NZ) on that motor.

Yeah, percent showed me that video of the guy who has to drop a bank every time he starts his custom made multi rotor engine. That guy should have bought a time share.
