2005 Rx-7

I may be a little late on this one, but I just read in Road & Track that if the RX-8 sells well Mazda will release a 4th gen RX-7. It will be a 2 door version of the RX-8 with a 280hp N/A version of the Renesis engine. I can't wait!

Well road and track is a good magazine but in their future cars issues they are noteriously wrong about alot of things.

Besides the guy who drew that RX-7 was a just playing around. " 2 sml 4 u" on the vanity plate still kinda peeves me.

Also it needs pop-up headlights!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I checked out the new Motor Trend yesterday at Wal-Mart, and it also talked about a two door, higher powered version of the RX-8.

Preach on rotor-brother, preach on! Even if it's a small possibility, or just a concept, look what consumer opinion did for the Viper. It was just a "crazy" idea at first, but look now. We too can show Mazda how much a 4th gen is wanted and needed. (stepping off soapbox)

How about if it was like a 3rd gen with a nice veilside kit with a removeable hardtop? I got to quit thinking about it, I'm getting a woodie! Of course the door handle setup would have to be changed and I always thought that was one of the slickest features. As you can tell by my avatar though that I like going topless as often as the weather permits!

And while they are at it, how about a factory programmable Haltech! With a badass stereo DVD system that the LCD doubles as the monitor for the Haltech! Dammit to hell can I get an AMEN!!!

Remember, you must give in order to get. Give 'em hell, (Mazda) and let your voice be heard. Then we'll get our 4th gen RX-7 w/ pop up hid headlights.

and a big fat-*** turbo with a front mount intercooler with a sweet sounding BOV. And gauges that look like something from a cockpit of a fighter jet. Reverse indiglos with a custom color selection. Oh, and a Lenco tranny!

Ooh, what if they made the headlight assembly so that they were modular and you could get either pop-up or standard?

Which version do you think would cost more; pop-ups, or standards?

how about they continue the tradition of pop-ups for the production car and if you dont like them by a *sleek* kit.

I would think the pop-ups simply because they have a motorized mechanism. Depending upon how the designed the area where the headlights they could possibly make the lights not look like popups when they were in the up position. That way they could have an overide switch to leave them up all the time if you liked that look more.
It would be a little challenging but look at what they did with the vert tops. They gave us a combination targa/convertable top that seals so good you think you are riding in a hardtop. I live in Texas where we get some damn big hail sometimes without much warning. It is good to have something solid over your head just in case it happens when you are out in the boonies! I get a lot of compliments because of all the ways the top will do on my car. 3 completely different looks.

Pop-Ups are cool! and if you don't like them buy some low profile clear ones. The '7 needs them stock because have you ever seen a aftermarket pop-up kit? you can change them later if you don't like them but its tradition and they juat plain look cool! And thats the truth cause I say it is!!!

there nothing wrong wit pop-ups im jus sayign for today's day and age do u see any cars really coming out wit pop-ups? anymore...not really...the new trend in headlight styling is not pop-ups...n most likely mazda gonan fallow that trend....pop-ups cool until the motor dies n u got the "wink" on yuor hands haha...anyways a lot of peeps wit pop-ups go after market.....(like wit MR2's) but its all good....yah they should come in pop-ups n then u should be able to convert it to non-pop-up if u like...im sure thast easier conversion then goin from standard to pop-up hehe

My prediction of what is gonna happen with the Rx-8 will be th e same rude awakening they got in 1993-1995 Low sales, too damn much money for a car that orginally was made to be a low cost sportscar.
