Get a block off plate and run premix. It will lubricate your internals way more efficiently and evenly that the stock system. It will increase your engine life also. Search for posts on engine teardowns, with premix and without.

*edit
Just reread that and saw you were planning on going with a carbed setup. Don't know if you can premix with a carb.... Maybe look around the 1st gen forums and look into it.

^i'm not too familiar with those setups but if they're a direct swap bolt wise on the front cover, then i can't see why u can't use it.

can't say one way or the other concerning omp vs premix. have never done premix but the rx4 engine i have in my 7 is still running at a little over 100k miles since i built it back in 2000. running the original omp setup on a holley. now it is plumbed into the primary float bowl so i guess that is kinda like premix. i know the stock carbed setups did have the oil dripping down the barrels so maybe having it actually mixed in with the fuel does make it better.

Don't know if the s4 mechanical is a direct swap for the s5 electric. I'd search or ask around the 2nd gen forums. Might require swapping front covers, which doesn't require tearing the whole engine down.

you cant run an s4 omp and have the stock ecu work properly it will go into limp mode without it hooked up. if you run the rtek mod in the stock ecu then yes. or a megasquirt
