1974 rx4 will a rx8 motor and transmission fit
I found a 1974 Rx4 for sale with no motor and transmission. Wanted to keep now if if a rx8 motor and transmission 6 speed would fit? I am think this might be a good option since it do not need to be smog and the motors seem to be cheaper and easier to find.

Also the throttle body is "Drive by wire" which seems like a major hassle to deal with. It would need a custom transmission mount, the rx8 and FD3S chassis do not use a traditional mount like the ones found in 1991 and older rotary chassis. Sweet car though! I would hold onto it or sell it to me

If it were me I'd restomod the 4 and have full control of the Renesis (if I were inclined to go Renesis in the first place) however, and it pains me to do this, you could always just downgrade to a carb and simple ignition computer or run a FuelTech for ignition control and still run the carb. Racing Beat has adapter plates.
