13B REW with 12A Front Cover and Mount - Strong Enough for Big Power?
13B REW with 12A Front Cover and Mount - Strong Enough for Big Power?
I have a front mounted 12A front cover/sump on a 13B 6 port in a non-Mazda, thinking about going to a 13B-REW with a turbo. CAS compatibility is not a concern here, nor is the rest of the driveline to deal with increased torque, those things are straightforward to deal with, just integrity of the front engine mount system is what I am asking about here.
So, any issues using a 12A front cover and front mount system with a big power turbo motor? Assuming the 12A front cover doesn't break, what about other potential issues? For example, oil leaks between the front cover and front side housing or the joint between the front cover and the oil pan? Timing issues with CAS due to flexure of the front cover under load? E-shaft nose seal issues due to deformation of the front cover under load? Etc?

It doesn't make a difference which front cover you use. Whether you are running a huge turbo or not. It is just a cover. your CAS, Eccentric shaft and any oil pan will line up. It is all preference.
