13b into mark one mr2

Is it possible to swap a 13b rotery into an mr2? If so what would be required to make it work?

Because the MR2 is a midengine car and the chasis is designed to be that way. To be reasonable you would have to convert it to RWD. Everything would have to be changed.

Yes they are driven by the rearwheels but the engine and tranny are in the rear. To put the 13B in you would have to change everything and put the motor up front.

a better starting point would be a porsche 911. Then you would just need a transmission adaptor, which I believe is already available. I'd love to put a 20b into a 993 or 996 C4

and i bet the 4AGE is a lot lighter than a rotary, also, which is how it can be so much lighter. (the fact that it has a transaxle instead of a trans, driveshaft, and rearend helps too) less weight to support means the body and suspension don't have to be so beefy, so they in turn can be lighter.

I have heard of 13bs in Porsche 914s.... I haven't seen it though. It can without a doubt be done.... though it may prove to be pretty f'n difficult.
