12a Twin Dizzy Apex Seals

Hi Guys,

I'm just after some real world experience here. I have a 12aTD running 3mm carbon seals and am interested in running a set of the Unbreakable Powerseals. Can anyone confirm they have used these on TD housings without tearing them up??? What is the general advice here, should I just stay with carbon or is there useful gains to be had going to a steel seal. What considerations should I have? e.g. I am premixing fuel, will ratio here help or hinder housing longevity???

The twin dizzy housing were not made to take steal seals. They will work, but risk wearing out the chrome. I thought the factory twin seals were 6mm.

yeh they are 6mm seals, I'm using a rx7 rotating assembly so have the option to run steel seals. Your understanding matches with what I was thinking....maybe I'll stick with carbon.

My RX2 has RX7 rotors in it with steel seals in the twin dizzy keg running the factory OMP. We had to open it once after a few thousand miles and it was wearing fine. I'll have to see if I have photos of the housings. I have a friend that has a nasty turbo bridgeported FD. He runs E&J apex seals and does not premix or have a metering pump, beats on the car and is having no issues. The seals are known to be softer. These are what I plan on running if the RX2 needs to have its motor opened again.
