I am looking at getting a 1994 rx7 touring model thats all stock, running ok as far as I can tell and has 81,000 miles on it. The price right now is 14,000 but I might be able to talk down the dealship to 13k maybe, the plan is still in the works

Try talking them down as much as possible. I'm not sure what the actual price should be. The miles seem pretty high, but I wouldnt worry too much. If you buy it don't run it into the ground :P

His other car is an Escalade so he rarely drives the FD... lol.
You can actually PM me if you have any questions about it, or you don't feel like calling him.

yah thats what you'd pay but keep in mind almost NO FD goes for that much unless the seller is desperate.
The car was driven by a women so I suspect she went easy on the engine lol but maybe not the cluch, lol I don't know of any good women drivers out there.

I see them in our area. for around 10k, pretty clean, 70-100k in our area about 2-3 times a month. gotta check all the for sale boards, etc. And just because a women drove it doesn mean the engine isnt almost toast. They had an inadiquet stock cooling system, and no matter how they are driven. they dont do over 110k. so at best you would only have a couple years left on it. Dont buy one from a dealership, they are idiots and dont understand these cars dont go high mileage. good luck in your search, and make sure you have money left over for maintainance issues.

um roto 2 of those cars are about 5 STATES away and the last one going for 12k doesn't write the milage down and needs the seals replaced. I still argue that a good FD in this area can never go for 9k-11k and as for the women drivers if I don't see them on a big event's podem then I still I say they aren't the best of drivers.

If the car is 81,000 miles with original motor still its not worth 14,000. There is a very high probablity of the motor going anytime on it and a good condition rolling chassis is only worth around 7000-9000 so keep that in mind. Paying $14,000 then another $4000 for a rebuild not long after wouldnt be bad at all.
eriksseven if your friend still has his car for sale in april or so and its clean and in great shape and runs good I would probably buy it whether it is original motor or not.

The paint was almost all original (one minor respray on the 1/4 before I bought it), interior was in great shape.
It was garaged before I bought it and I always garaged it.

wow I never relized these later 7's are having problems. my wife wants one really bad, huh wonder how the rx8s are gonna hold up for the long run. I couldn't imagine paying $14g for a car and having to put another 4g back into it. they look so frickin sweet though. chicks look hot when they pimp em too.

NO, your the retard because you cant even read what he originally wrote.
""almost NO FD goes for that much unless the seller is desperate.""
He never said where it had to be. He just made a blanket statement and i proved him wrong. So befor you go calling names like a 3 year old, go and read the freaken posts. My point was that for a car that only has like 10k miles left on it. 14k is too much. For 14k you should be able to get one that has at least a rebuilt engine with like 10-20k on it or something. I cant help you guys dont find deals and just want to go to dealerships and get ripped off.
Now, just too own you. Here are two cars that i found in like 5 minutes of searching that are "in our area". enjoy...
Here is one that has the identical miles, with a set of wheels. I bet they are slightly negotable too:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=23
Here is another with 24k less miles than the one he was looking at and still a 1000 bux less:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=33
So how about you do some research befor you start calling names...

Read TurboJeffs post, he said it had the 5th gear synchro replaced meaning it is a 5 speed and also had a Mazda Reman recently installed. If I were you I would be checking that car out. If it had 68K miles when Turbojeff sold it then it must be over 70,000 miles still not outside the range what I want to get but I am really wanting to get something around 40 or 50,000 miles.
Also the cars Rotortuner posted one is high priced for an automatic and the other looks like a POS just like Jeff said. It is very hard to find FD's in the northwest that are in good shape for a good price. You can find them around 10,000 but they are not worth generally worth the money, you have to do quite a bit of searching to find a screaming deal. Because of the rarity of these cars in the northwest it is not uncommon to find an unsuspecting seller who has no idea what the car is worth and get a steal. I could send you a pic of the exterior of an FD that I know for sale and say for sale for $8000 and you would think the car looks fine sounds like a great deal but once you saw it in person you wouldn't even pay a dollar for the car because it would require more money to fix everything wrong with the interior, engine, and transmission than just buying a nice car for $15,000.

I dont dissagree that its can be hard to find nice ones for cheap. My only point i want to make is that the statement was made that Almost no fd's sell for around 10g's. And i think i have shown that they do. Thats the only point i wish to make. I i still think 14k for a car that is almost ready to blow up is way too much.

So why is it women are not the best drivers? Is it because they are more cautious? I think some women drive great. Even in Drag racing. RT times I think are better than a mans.
