Yet another noob intro

Hello all. Just thought I'd introduce myself.

My name's Gavin, and I'm from Des Moines, Washington. I just got my first RX-7 (my first car at all, actually) towed to my house today, an '83 GSL. The engine currently in it has a warped rotor housing, but I also got a (supposedly) good '84-'85 12A that Jeff20B is going to help me swap in. There are numerous small issues as well, but overall it's not in bad shape given what I paid for it. In any case, it should be a fun project.

Here are some pics if anyone is interested.

Congrats on the purchase. Looks like there is a little cleaning to do under the hood though

Unhappy noob to this Club!

Hi, Myra from Richmond Virginia. I recently re-purchased my 1991 Rx7 Convertible (not a turbo) from a friend and look forward to a web site that supports the rotary engine and other features of the Rx7. I do not have the experience to keep up with 'auto geeks' yet, but am willing to learn.

My question today is; I think the alarm system has shorted out, causing the horn to continually blow. I have been told to remove the fuse for the alarm until I can get it serviced. Any advice? Also, I would like to get a manual for this baby and be more 'intelligent' about questions and service. I plan to keep her this time.

I will post pictures, etc once I get comfortable with your Great web site.

Thanks asthanos:
Myra

Lol, more than just a little. The interior needs work, too, a good vacuuming and scubbing and all that.

*Jaw drops*

This is SCARY! My first car was a white 83 GSL with a blown engine that I restored. Check out www.cardomain.com/id/rotormotordriver to see it. Unfortunately it got stolen, but God damn it was fun and I miss it like none other. Let me know if you need any help man, Ive been around a few 7s in my day, and some of these members can vouch for some of my knowledge. Id love to turn a wrench on a 7 again, so let me know!

~T.J.

EDIT: What color is the interior? Cloth or leather?

Thanks, man, I really appreciate it!

It's red and leather, so not quite the same, but pretty close.
Yours is a lot prettier than mine, though. I've got a long way to go.
