yeah, I'm new here, hey everyone.
I love rx7s. i want one. I have probably around 8-9k to spend.
I've seen a few FD's go for 9k or so on the forums here...
so if anyone has one they want to let go for a reasonable price or knows where i might find one, please do tell!!

Forum problems 
Like i just typed before......a FD priced at 8-9k will probably need major work. If you're planning on using this for a daily driver, I suggest spending more, or get anouther type of car. FD's are not cheap cars to own, and are not know for reliability. I highly suggest a FD be a weekend car or project car. CJ

yeah, they are pricey. but any car is pricey. i just thought that some people mor einvolved with the scene (forum goers) would be willing to part with a good condition FD for a reasonable price. because honestly i think most of them are way overpriced.

Actually they're undervalued in my opinion, same with every rotor head out there, but ya not a cheap car to own especially if you plan on modding it. If you can do your own mechanical work and are somewhat competent you may be able to afford one, but make sure you have a reliable POS as a backup for the eventual downtime the FD will see.

Well if you got $9k to spend why not use that as a down payment?! Or is that $9k as big of a loan as you can get?! I wouldn't part with my emissions failing, coolant spitting FD for $9k!!! I love these cars. Expensive to own but oh so worth it in the pleasure of driving them....

I wouldn't reccomend anyone to buy an FD without having atleast 5-7k extra tucked away and have a way to quickly replace that "fix-it" fund if it is used up on a rebuild.
240's are cool but played out n more overrated than any rx-7. the fd is a super car, it competed with the supra since its creation. and in my opinion, kicked its ***. they are perfect for alomost anything, grip or slip they are tuned 50/50. once u get in one n drive it u'll know how bad u really want it and u'll work for it until u can get it. all the other cars u'll have will never compare. they are expensive but they are amazing machines. i suggest if u really want this car get 18k n buy a good condition one n baby the crap out of it. then when u have the money to **** around with it start upgrading slowly, just like any other car.
Interested in an ultra clean perfectly running FC you could turn into a looker with your left over $$$ after buying it? 500miles on rebuilt engine (Atkins streetport)

Hi there, welcome to the forum! I have been an Rx7 owner now for almost 3 years here and in other rotor head forums. I agree with this guys here, since I been in here for a while FD's are for people with money. They need tweaking and tuning most of the time. A lot of them are moded if you trying to get one for 9K. Which mean that half of the time you will not get all the details, paper work, information of how the car is moded. Most likely someone is selling one is because they can not figure out their own problem.
A true FD clean and solid for a very cheap price go over 13K. I seen them running easy un-moded for 16K-20K with low miles. My advice, you want one so badly, keep on saving. You are close enough already. Don't rush things because those who rush things will end up in problems. Keep your eyes open and you never know when one will come around your way.
If not others solution is to get a nice clean FB GSL-SE or FC and mod it if you like. You will have more fun, and spend more time driving it than tuning it. hehe

Keep your eye on the 3rd gen section, you'll be experiencing all the heartaches and happiness that others are having. Mazda cut a few corners on the FD-upgrades and maintenance will keep you eating ramen at home. At 60k the motors fail, $3500 just for the motor at most places, labor not included. The stock radiator, intercooler, turbos, ast, vac lines, are not worth replacing with stock ones. Most of us FD owners get rid of these items before they give us headaches, usually during a rebuild. It gets expensive fast. BUT-WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING I CAN'T GET THE SMILE OFF MY FACE!!!
an FC would probably be the way to go for you. I own both and they are different machines, but you can definitely tell they are closely related. FC's are super fun, pretty easy to work on, and I'd say alot more worth the $$. plus you could afford to mod one to your own liking and even have some money left over for whatever.

This black car i now own made it to 90k before the coolant seal went, but i bought it knowing that the coolant seal was going out. I was suprized at how long it lasted acutaly.
My rebuild cost me $1,200. Its been done right. It doesnt miss a beat unless teh plugs are fouled from tuning LOL.
Its all in how you play your cards. If you have the space, knowledge, and time to do all the work your self. You really wont worry about motors blowing. I really dont care if my motor craps out on me again. I'll just rebuild it....

persuade me to buy an FC and i'll be around the forums more often ; )

if mr2's were easy, you'd see videos of them drifting in the US or Japan. Even the drift King won't do "dynamic" drifting with the Mr2. The one segment he uses the grey car only shows him doing a power slide and nothing more.

u can drift an mr2, drift king totally owns the mid engine rwd drifting. watch the drift bible, he ****** goes nuts but he even spins out. all u gotta do is everything a whole lot sooner in that car, if ur not expecting oversteer ur fucked cause u have to be counter steering practically b4 u kick the rear end out. but anyways fc's are sick and s14's are cool but i mean look how many ppl have em compared to 7's. its ridiculous, 7 is the way to go. plus u wont have to deal with the KA's, theyre a crap shoot. less moving parts in the engine = better (go rotary)

Just kidding, man.I would say save your money. And, while you are saving stay on this site and research the FD. If you really want one that's your best plan of attack. If you are "desperate" for a fun drifiting car get a Turbo II. The 240SX/"Silvia" is nice, but played out. Not to mention pistons just aren't cool anymore... Or get a Turbo II and familiarize yourself with the rotary addiction and work your way up to an FD in the future once you know a little more about how much of a
