Wrecked FB Fighting Insurance came across a Problem

Ok well on March 26th my 83 Gsl was struck in a Parking lot by a truck, Damage is not to bad ill show pics later, Anyways I called the police and got a report and the owner of the truck has Liability so Im safe there, anyways now I have the Issue that started when I purchased the car

My Insurance is telling me that im not the registered Owner of the car when I went and got the title changed back in November apparently he sold me a "83 Rx-7 Gsl" but after running the Vin number its a 82 Rx-7 On a salvaged Title, So I have a title of an 83 Mazda Rx-7 GS but thats not the title to the car I own, does anyone have an Idea on what I can do?

Btw all the parts check out as an 83 accept the 13b Swap, All disc brakes, Rear LSD, Power Windows.. Ect So when I purchased the car I thought i had it right, but I didnt have it pass in my mind to run the Vin on the car beforehand, Is there another location on the car for vin numbers?

Heres a Link to the Old owners car when I did find it on the boards https://www.rx7club.com/nw-sale-wanted-classifieds-209/83-gsl-1500-obo-800347/

that dosent look bad. I suggest a wide body kit or a hammer and racing tape.

x2 on the racing tape, i have seen alot worse, hit up the junk yards, get a fender and bumper, and get that baby back on the road.

the impact looks like it wasnt real hard. Def put effort to fix it before parting out...

I know a Hammer and some paint would fix it but I still have to finish the Harness swap.... that last 13b S4 Harness that was swapped into it was complete **** and the car ran like it... Im not good at doing the new swap I dont know what to connect and where everything should go, It depends on how much I get out of the insurance before I decide if I want to keep this FB or not

Nahh it doesnt I put a new one, it now has a S4 13b injected I was working on the harness swap before the collision happened.... its not to bad im waiting for insurance to call me and tell me if they will fix it or if there gonna total it, If they do total it im going to buy it back and consider what im going to do it with it, I know a guy who can do the body work, I still have to harness the engine, I bought a complete bumber to bumper full body and engine harness for a 86 Rx-7 but I dont know what I need out of the harness for my car, is it just the Parts that plug into the ECU? Iv never done the swap so just figuring it out

This is my first time dealing with Insurance company about this was wondering if any of you had any advice on what I should be doing to about getting the most bang for my buck on said car?

also I will be buying it back pulling the motor and selling the GSL as a whole it is a 1983 with 110XXXk miles on the chassy, the larger rear Disc brakes have been installed on it so if your interested in the rear LSD and all that so if your interested pm me

Just remember that its not just up to them. It's an agreement between both of you. The value they will be paying is what should be the cost to replace the vehicle that you had. So if you want to do some homework ahead of time, start gathering evidence to make your case for what you think it will cost to replace the car.
