So yeah there is a god. Never just pay your fine. Unless you cant defend yourself on it. MAKE THE COP SHOW! half of the time they dont..

Good job! I beat 3 out of 4 tickets once by showing up and fighting it. The worst one was careless driving, the one I ended up having to pay was unsignaled lane change, $35. I showed up with a fresh haircut, pressed shirt, tie, dressed up basically. The cop didn't shave for a couple of days and didn't stand up when the judge came in.
The best thing is the cop LIED and turns out those lies bolstered my case.

They're both Seattle cops. One is the head of the enrollment board! LOL! He's about to retire though. I've got other methods to get out of tickerts though. I was racing this car one day and the cop pulled next to me and wagged his finger turned on his lights and went after the other car. LOL
Sounds like a recent Negligent driving I was contesting. But after filing a 'discovery' and receiving the police report and sworn-statement, I decided that I couldn't fight it.
Regardless, I went to court anyways and when I got there I read a well prepared 'repentance' statement admitting my guilt and regret. After reading it, the Judge first commended me on my honesty and then after asking a few questions regarding the nature of the incident, he determined that he didn't have jurisdiction... *Technically* the offense took place right at the county-line and I was pulled over in Snohomish County and the officer sent the ticket to a King County courthouse...
Anyways, I just kind of looked up at him and asked, "Well... What should I do?" This is the coolest part, because a RANDOM attorney who happened to be friends with the Judge snuck up to my table and whispered in my ear, "Make a motion to have the case dismissed". I merely parroted exactly what she said to the Judge and he smilingly said, "Well, although we WOULD like to take your money... Motion granted, case dismissed.
It was sooo sweet. The Judge was a cross between Mr. Rogers and Norm Macdonald from saturday night live--if you can imagine that, LOL.

Just so you know I think its the forth admendment...think have to look back but in that I says that: "no person subject to this chaper may compel any person to incrimiate hisself or to answer any questions the anwser to which may tend to incriinate him" so basicy in a sum shut your hole if the cops asks of attemps to force you to admit your giult and if he does, well in court tell the judge that he violtated your fourth admentmant or self incrimination...so yea thats my speal...
You can never go wrong fighting the tickets. You won't get in any more trouble so you might as well fight them all.
I've have more then a few dissmissed due to the officer not showing up and their notes being illegible or just not making sense.

The Fifth Amendment is the right to avoid self-incrimination, Fourth amendment is the right to protection from unlawful search & seizure.

But hey, you go into court and tell them that they violated your Fourth Amendment rights as see what happens
