Wish Me Luck!
Wish Me Luck!
Well, I just got word that Snohomish County Sheriffs office accepted my application, and I will start the testing phases of hiring in October for an entry level Deputy Sheriff.
Hopefully all will go well, and I might actually make it through this and get a job. If not, no biggie, Ill try again at another department. I have a list of 9 cities I plan on applying to, as well as King county and Washington State Patrol.
For those of you who dont know me, Im probably one of the most unlucky people on this board, I had problems everytime I turned around with my car, driving records, home life, etc. I used to bitch about it all on here quite a bit. Anyway, one day some people on here suggested maybe I try the military, and I did. I joined the US Army, and since I had an interest in law enforcement after my interest in computer services and networking fell through, I enlisted as a Military Police officer, and have been working as one in the Army Reserves for the past year or so after a short time on active duty, and a tour in Germany. Ive been trying to get into civillian law enforcement since I got back, and some even said I had the skills based on my ability to find my own car which was stolen so long ago.
Speaking of my stolen car, Ive defined irony. Applying for and potentially working for the very same Sheriffs office you dispised for so long after they completely botched your entire case agaist the people who stole you car.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my good news, since it made my day after my luck yet again struck and I got rear-ended on I-5 on the way to work today. No injuries, and I feel bad for the guy that hit my Toyota (see sig, lol), my truck is fine, his Chevy 1500 didnt look to happy with all the bent and broken pieces and coolant leaking everywhere. Of course it would also appear the guy didnt have insurance too. I wish we were on Ft Lewis and he rear ended me, that would NOT have made his day. The killer of this is, I just got transferred to a traffic accident investigation unit on Ft. Lewis too, and 2 weeks later someone hits me
Ah well, such is life.

Good luck...I knew a guy that went through the program and did not cut it...his sentiments were exactly like yours. There are other places out there to apply. I have heard it is a tough process so hopefully contrary to oppisite events you will have good luck!
