what the hell? help!!

ok i just put in a new ignition with new lock assembly. now sometimes when im driving, around 2-3 k in first and 2nd. when i try to give it some more gas it cuts out a couple time before getting up and going? the previous ignition kept shorting out my egi fuse. is there something wrong with my ecu now?

Possible problem with the wiring? That's what it's sounding like to me. Did your car cut out like this before or jut always short out the fuse?

i hooked everything up correctly. the ignition was all fucked up before and i was driving home and it jolted and then it would slow down and the gas peddle wasnt responding (blew the egi fuze) when i put the clutch in it died. so i replaced the ignition. now it runs but every now and then it will cut out when i give it some gas at low rpms.

sounds like your having a grounding issue. seach for grounding issues in the 2nd gen section and you should find it
or atleast thats my best guess

im not 100% but i dont think the ign switch can cause the egi fuse to blow, id guess a short in the engine harness or something, perhaps like a bac connector grounding out or some other exposed wire or something...

I think you are right. If I remember correctly, the ignition switch just activates the main relay which gives power from the egi fuse to the ecu. However if there was a short past the relay, it could make it appear that the ignition switch is the culprit, when in reality the switch is just fine and the wiring past the relay is the issue.
