Brought it for an alignment Saturday (finally after replacing the steering parts a couplex weeks ago) then I took it out for a nice 2 hour drive. Tonight I replace the vapor barrier under the door panel so I can drop it off to the upholstery shop to have the new door panel adjusted.

put some new JDM WORK VS-XX 17" RIMS17x8 and 17x8.5
crapy cell pics, now looking at getting a 10mm spacer for the rear but having a hard time finding them; also looking for boost air fuel oil pressure temp gauge.

What I think might be the problem with that carb is the way the idle circuit was changed on the later carbs. They came stock with a power valve and/or a richer solenoid. One or both might need to be hooked up. That carb you got also came stock with a ported secondary vacuum diaphragm cover (swapped to sealed kind) and a plug bolt in the air adjust screw position. They (Mazda) were obviously phasing the air screw out hence the FB Nikkis only have a fuel adjust screw and the air is factory set. I happened to have a spare hitachi air screw so I tested it and it fit. In my infinite wisdon I never tested the carb with the correct screw lol. I should still have the bolt here. I'll look for it tomorrow.
I'm not saying the bolt will solve the idle problem on that carb, but it just might.
One other thing while testing the Nikki yesterday, it couldn't idle until it warmed up a bit. It behaved very similarly to the Hitachi's idle circuit. I'm thinking the problem may not be dirt or crud in the carb. The problem could be a miscalibrated idle circuit.

With the help from Joe and another buddy of mine, Raphael, got my brakes put back together the correct way so the e-brake cable actually works. Got the entire engine back together with all new gaskets. Put the ignition back to stock. Installed racing beat strut brace. got side skirts on. Amp installed so I actually have sound now (just need a sub) and she's running. Got the ugly mariah hood on, so it looks a bit frankensteinish but I love it.
Messing around with carbon vinyl wrap on some of the interior stuff, and re-did the lid for the center in leather to match the shift boot and e-brake handle, it's not looking bad inside either.
Till I manage to get time to work on the new front bumper, I may have to out the old one back on. Can anyone tell me the length size and thread pitch of the bolts for stock (85) bumper install. I know it's 14mm but can't find any more details in searches. Can't find the ones we removed earlier.

It's a stock hood with their fiberglass scoops added. Very good quality, although the scoop on the left is the only one that lets air in, and it hit the racing beat strut brace so I had to cut some off. I'm going to open up the right side as well. Going to swap out alternator and get rid of the fuseable links next.
