lol, i dont think its appropriate to talk about it atm, but if i am allowed to stay, there may come a time. i will just say this: i should have kept my mouth shut, and put my foot in it, and in doing so called attention to myself for a past event that was (should have been) let go of. So this is a just in case, i really love bs'in with everyone here and cant wait for summer to cruise with everyone and be at events, so this is my way of keepin myself in the loop

ok aside from roller every other mod says we are done... So, i would like to talk about this now....

So remember that widebody i had that was red a while back. Well i sold it to bob for 500.00, and told him for another 500.00 i would do the body work on it (to cut him a deal, in hopes he would remember that down the line and his shop might cut me one??), i made it clear and he knew from past dealings i am not very well off and cant afford to pay for all supplies and what not, but i can help with what skills i have to do the job... He came over and looked at it, and bought it.I told him then i am backed up with finishing chris's car and that i had another side job i had to finish, but i will tryo to get to it and he said well thats fine, i will just make payment when its ready (thus when i get to it, we will go from there)...

I told him the suspension was not included (se) and he will need to put other on. He never did, so i ended up going to their shop and they had it there for me, and i put it on for him. A few months later i had financial problems, and lost the shop. I had a week to get out and told him this. Told him i cant finish it, and he said it should have been done months ago and because i didnt have it done within that first month i screwed him over and he wants his money back. I said i cant do that (thus financial problems) and offered him MY puprle wide body kit to make it kewl (cause hes a slandering ******* and i knew he would start **** over this, and my rep matters to me). He refused and said give me my money back. I told him i cant and there are three options, one get your car today. Two, let me barrow ur trailer and i will bring it to you, or three, i will rip it apart and sell it and pay you back when i can (told him i can do 50.00 a month)...

He said give me my $ back again and so i waited for a response past that. Later i get an ok from him on the 50 a month thing so i rip the car apart and try to find a buyer for the kit. i found one in wa through installer67 on the club. sold it for 200 all said and done and had to deliver. so it took over 150 in gas to get it to him which left me with my monthly payment to bob. he saw the thread and attacked sayin he wants all 250 plus the monthly payment.


Well before this deal i had one with him for a (500,or 700? cant remember) engine. I paid 150 down and was going to do 1800$ worth of house painting and landscaping to pay off the rest. Well i couldnt make it up there every other day and had to bail out, hi asked for the $ and he can have the HOURS of labor on his property for free. He said "i could have sold it so i am keeping the money and selling the engine"..Remembering this i decided to just ignore him and tell him he should have got his abandoned car... Its scrapped now.. Now i am being attacked through the mods for this. And its costing me my club rights it seems..

So hoofharted (bob) is taking atvantage of the fact that instead of having his car towed off and letting him deal with this, i tried to care and now he is screwing me because i was considerate.. My mistake, and i have learned, next time i will be like the failed business man who is attacking me and just tell you to blow it out your ***..


SO BOB, how about that 150.00 and the labor i gave you?? since we are bringing up **** from the past, i would like to know what you would say if i bitched about it to everyone as you do about me?

I am well aware this is my demise, but it seems roller is up bobs *** and i am doomed anyways as he's a lawyer and going to show me i am wrong...... I am sure this thread wont last long and i will be gone, but i hope to see you all again at a meet.. And nytrate, you couldnt be more right

to us NW guys swinging the banhammer down on joe would be like burning an american flag. it just aint right. he is one of the nicest guys here in the NW that i have had the privilege of dealing with. its not every day you get a guy to just give you the parts you need to get your car back on the road. not exactly sure what he did but who cares. its the ******* internet! just let it go.


what joe posted above me is the reason i hate this forum. he is an honest man and gets fucked. they dont help those who need it on here, i was ripped off 150 bucks earlier this year and without even trying to resolve it they let the same peice of **** keep selling stuff on here, ripping off more and more people. but ill stop before i get too pissed about a damn website.

I was attempting to stay out of this, but at my request Joe has copied me on your conversation. I am appalled at how you have chosen to handle this. Joe Maddox is quite possibly the most upstanding of our local members. If you knew him in real life and were not just some keyboard internet jockey (dare I say bully at this point), there would be no question here as to his motives. Joe is not perfect, no one is, but he sure as hell is the better person in this situation. His side of the conversation has been rather blunt, I do believe with the chance to explain WITHOUT being provoked as you have done, he would be able to properly voice his side.

Joe is the only local member who is constantly exceeding buyers expectations, providing deals and incentives (extra parts included, ect ect) just because he is a good guy who loves these cars and the community that surrounds them. Just ask the DOZENS of local members who have done business with him and been completely satisfied.

As far as I am concerned, you sir are completely out of line and another moderator needs to step in immediately. You both need to step back and stop this from getting out of hand before you really start to cause a uproar in our small community here.

Do I believe Joe is completely in the right here? No. Do I believe he owes Bob anything? No. Bob Putman on the other hand is possibly one of the lowest members in our community, a person people avoid dealing with at most costs. Joes dealings with him were purely due to his propensity to give others a second chance and help others in the community here. You will be making a HUGE mistake if you continue this pointless endeavor.

Joe and I have had several dealings in parts and such over the past while, I will definitely back him up in anything. As as as what Marc has said about him.

He is a straight forward guy, knows what he's talking about, and is definitely a valued member of the NW section.

I just bought a transmission from him yesterday, he was great, friendly, kept me informed on when we were going to meet up, and gave me a good price on it. [Not to mention, saving me ~8hrs of driving by selling his!] ^_^

The only other time I've interacted with him was when I was looking for the engine [that this transmission will be paired with someday]. He'd contacted the seller first and had dibs on it, but he let me have it as he'd gotten a couple just a while before that.

It's hard to believe that whatever has happened here has come this far. While I have never had business dealings with Bob or Joe, I have met them a few times each. Both seemed to be reasonable and pleasant. I know that business can sometimes get a little ugly, but when two parties meet on fresh terms they can usually work it out by seeing the situation from the others' point of view. I don't know the situation and I'm pretty sure I don't want to, but I know that these guys could work it out eventually despite the back and forth history described in this thread. I think it would be a great loss to the NW section to lose Joe as a regular contributor as he is consistently bringing new, sometimes funny, and always entertaining subjects to our collective attention.
I see other car clubs and gatherings of car enthusiasts having fun, learning from each other, furthering the cause of their make or model, and generally coming together with a common sense of comraderie. While I have little experience with the Rx-7 community as I have only owned my '84 for 3 years and only been to a couple of get togethers, I wish that I could see more class and true intentions in our affinity for the Rx-7 and the rotary engine. Why do we have to hear stories about bad behavior at Seven Stock and hear rumors of hotels and cities not allowing the Rx-7 community to gather again? Why can't two reasonable grown men not work out their differences over what seems like a misunderstanding? I'm pretty sure they can find common ground on their love for the cars they drive.
This situation might be over before we all even know it even existed, but I would like to call for the moderators to take a back seat if they can't help solve this problem, but they should first be trying to take a leadership role and act as actual "moderators".
I hope I am not out of line here and have not offended anyone. Forgive me if I have. I am not a mechanic, not a rotary expert, and not a moderator. But I would like to see us support one another before anything else.

I've had two transactions with Joe. One he went out of his way to meet me to drop off a water lump housing. Also during this he just gave me a set of LCA because I said mine were damaged and he had a set with him.
The next one my car was out due to a bad alt and Joe was nice enoughto just send it without charging me. Just asked me to cover shipping. Hell he was even nice enough to mail it to me before I even gave him the money.

Joe is a huge part of our community. I'm sure everyone on here can vouch for that. Also if you ban him how will I ever see all the sweet cars on CL he finds and shares with us?

regaurdless of how this thread goes of what has lead up to this, my call tonite with joe has givin me a lot of insite as to where the site had gone in the short time i have been here. I know this post will get me a vacation .............so qoutes me on this for others to see. So Joe did all the correct things to get to situation resolved and made ammends only to be dissed on the site over a deal he tried to make right with someone who would not work things out and SLANDERED him on the site. this is a lot of BS, and I l will stand behind him 10 fold over this. You mods need to look a little deeper into this and look to resolve this issue with out further actions until this OTHER person comes clean


I will enjoy a vacation if it gets an issue resolved on someone who holds great input to others on the site and is so helpful to others and will continue to help the rotary community grow
