Vote for the best rotary shop in Washington
Alien Auto isn't neccessarily auto repair, but they can do just about anything for you and the fabrication is top notch. Can't believe I missed them in my first post, best place I have ever worked with.
Wow a lot has changed from the time this thread was started tell now and not a lot of time has passed.
But just to clarify things. When I stated that Atkins was not an option it was because the thread starter did not spell it right. It was a joke.

Has Hayes reopened??? I know they shut down the shop a while ago.
I Dont have anyone in WA that i like any more.
OLD choice number 1:Rapid Rotary: Now I just dont trust them.
old choice number 2: Hayes: They used to be fantastic!!! I still havn't had any problem with them. But they are out of business now.
As far as Andy at Mazdatech. I have used him once. He kept my car for a week, then called me and said he just didnt have time to work on it. So i havent been back.
Then its time for an updated list!
JLC in Kent built THE best engine I ever had built- Street ported 12a, that used to pull like a raped ape. Man, I used to irritate so many people in their 5.0 Mustangs, old school muscle cars, and Datsun's with my 1200cc's of fury. I killed it with youthfull ignorance. Nothing to do with his work.
Jerry's Little Car Shop gets my vote. Note the earlier mention of him calling you out if you go in there spouting dumb ****. He's a no BS kind of guy (which is who I want building my engines). I'll pay the extra for him not being interested in wasting your (or his) time.

Don Hayes - now at First Stop Performance in Clearview (N of Woodinville) does rotaries. I've referred several friends there for other non-rotary vehicles and they love the place. It's the only place I've trusted my Rx-7s with since Don was working at Hayes Rotary.
I've talked to Jerry's car shop and they don't know anything. First I had to explain to the guy how an engine and a turbo work. Told him exactly what the wastegate does and asked him if they can port it. He said they can't do something like that. Then I asked him about doing an exhaust for me just from the cat to the muffler. Guess what they don't have the skills to do that either. The guy even asked me why would I wanna go custom exhaust when there are already made kits for sale. It was pointless to argue with someone with no knowledge about cars so I hung up.

Maybe you should read this:
History - Jerry's Little Car Shop, Mazdas Only .Com - Kent, Washington
Isn't it amazing that those idiots at Mazda would choose a guy who doesn't know anything about cars to be crew chief of one of their factory race cars, and even more amazing that his car won its class in the 24 hour race at Daytona, on more than one occasion, and that on one of those occasions it won with an engine that Jerry had built. Just dumb luck, I guess.
