Nice pictures. I talked to you a number of times Sunday but didn't realize you were on the forum. I was the radio guy on Station #3 that you worked and ran the Black FD in your group and that my son ran in the other group.

I agree, it was a lot of fun and very well run. Nice job Michelle.

What a great day to autocross. I wish my car was in condition to race. Steph's miata doesnt have enough power for my taste.

Anibal, I'm glad you like the pictures. By the way, what did you think of the joy ride in the miata during the lunch break?

I'll post up some extra pics of the event. Enjoy!

Few more pics!

Looking back at the course, I now realize that 3rd gear would have been more appropriate for the long slalom in the middle of the course. Both the Mr-S and the Miata were redlining it during most of that slalom. I wonder if shifting would have upset the balance much during... Guess I will find out next event.

That is my car. Not sure if it is me or my son driving though. It looks a lot faster than I was able to drive it.

Glad you all had a good time. I did too. Did you get any shots at the end where I spun out the Volvo.
Hope to see a bunch of you on 3/16. Info about that event will be up soon,
Steph's car had plenty of power if you ask me.

Nice pictures!!! I don't remember the VW, but nice picture, they do tend to get one tire off the ground a lot!!! and yes, I like the ride in the Miata, I hope to may be ride in one of the new ones, next time!!! since I have been thinking on buying one to be my daily driver and then I can park my Rx8 and use it on special occasions, like this one!!! dhays glad to meet you, and yes I am here and in the Rx8 Forum and I live in Puyallup. Hope to see you in the next one!!!

I was working Station #3 near the end of the slalom and the turn around. There were a few cars that sounded as if they ran out of torque at a time when they could have used a bit more acceleration before braking for the turn.

My FD had the opposite problem. I didn't feel I had as much power as I would have like in the low end of 2nd at some points in the course and the FD was just getting happy near the end of the slalom run.

I will be there on the 16th along with my son. I sent you an email asking how to register two of us with the same car.

yeah, weather was nicer, but no one off-roaded through the infield and there were very few spins (making it nice for the course workers/ less cones to pick up!!!)

Quite odd how few cones were hit that day... Steph spun the miata out 4 or 5 times and did get 2 wheels off course at one point. She was all over that course!

As far as the miata power comment, I think I'm more acclimated to my rx7 where I have to practice throttle control. You really can stand on the gas most of the time in the miata. Oh rotorette, since you drove the miata, do you recall your run time? I really struggled to get the miata in the 58 second range. The white MR-S was fun, but I couldnt go faster than a high 59. Driving a mid engine car in autocross is a blast! Definatly feels very different than the miata, but in a good way.
