Thumbs up Torsen Helical Gear Lsd

Hey i came across this on ebay. i was thinking about getting it but i dont know if it is any diffirent from a regular lsd or set at a good price $324..95 any info would be great thks..

yeah, its the all around best type of LSD i think. Allows you to transmit the maximum ammount of torque to the ground. But the stock clutch type LSD is stronger

S4 was clutch type and S5 is torsion. So thats just an S5 torsion type.

Hey tooshort... when you did the conversion, did you put a turbo rear end in your car? If not, that TORSEN won't work. It's larger than the non turbo differential, and won't fit in the non turbo casing. The TORSEN is only a replacement if you already have a turbo rear end...

The conversion includes:

Differential
Rear axles
Driveline
probably transmission as well (i think there are some length differences between turbo and non)

well a torsen from a miata would work if you have the non-turbo rear end. They also have the 7" ring and pinion.

Mazdatrix sells it as a direct replacement on their site

tooshort, you could go to the junkyard and get the conversion off of that turbo car, just incase you want to be ready for your conversion. It will all bolt up to your car. Then you could put the torsen in whenever.
