TII owners, help me get to the BBQ!

TII swap is soooooo cloooooose. I got it in and all buttoned up, she cranks but won't fire. there is fuel pressure and pump is working, but the injectors aint injectin. I did replace all the injector clips w/ new ones, but I am damn sure I wired them up correctly. but there is no fuel entering the engine whatsoever. I am wondering what the large white(round or oval) plug by the AFM plug is tho... anyone know? and yes, the fuel lines are hooked up correctly.

well any ideas are appreciated, I hope its somethin simple. this is the 1st time I have installed a motor in the FC and it ain't the original!

btw, motor is S4 j-spec and harness/ecu is S4 u.s.

what does the neutral switch (tranny) do? would that not allow me to start it if it weren't hooked up? only 1 of the 4 plugs going to the tranny would reach (or would fit the plug for that matter) so the other 3 are ziptied out of the way.

Yeah the neutral switch is what makes allows you to start it (but i thought that was only autos), either way should be able to jumper it somehow to bypass that (or just make it longer and connect it)... and the clutch switch... try asking/searching in the 2nd gen forums should get some better answers.

The neutrall safety switch just makes it so that on manual trans. cars you have to press the clutch in befor it will allow the starter to crank the engine over.

yeah, she runs. I just need to figure out the alternator wiring. it's only running on 12 volts right now. I want to make it to battle of the imports today too, so hopefully I can knock this out soon!

well, I can't for the life of me figure out where to route the 2 wires from the back of the alternator. I know they go somewhere near the ecu, to one of the other plugs, but I cannot read any of the FSM wiring diagrams well enough to figure it out. so it may be a no go for me after all since I can't drive that far off the battery...

Damn, I thought I was the only one that did that. The altenator won't work until you rev it above 3K the first time. Follow the swap procedures on Kevin Landers site and it tells you how to run the wires and everything should be good. I also got the wrong wires the first time and had the same experience. Kinda stange you have to snip a wire to shut off the engine.

Remeber that your alternator take a crap from driving it that long without those other wires connected!

actually it turns out that alternator wasnt "bad" i didnt realize i needed to rev high to have it start working lol.....

however you are right ,you run long term with out the voltage regulator it will wear out your alt way faster as it will run at max power ussually.

Umm your alternator should always be cranking out voltage.... If its only working above like 4k its bad....
