Strange issues, related or coincidence?

So, I went to Tacoma the other day to pick up my new Dellorto 48, and noticed that my temp and fuel gauges took a couple minutes to "work", but came on and all was fine. On the return trip, noticed my idle seemed higher. Next day, fire it up and sure enough, idle was dead on at 1100, but now is even at 1500. Also no temp or fuel gauge now. Haven't had a chance to tear into it yet, any ideas?

I had some issues with my 7 when I first started driving it. strange things like no gauges, tach bugging out and the like, found it to be just a poor ground at the battery. Started with the starter grinding on the first turn of the key. Check it out.
Hope this helps you out. If not give me a call

Joe

Found the problem

Apperently the P.O. had friends he neglected to mention. Tried to install my new Mallory fuel pump at the back of the storage bin area, and guess what I found? Lot's of copper, the harness was all chewed up. mouse **** everywhere, and bare wires too. So, after a couple hours re-wirng, I got a silent pump, solid fuel pressure, gauges work, All is good again. Well, till tomorrow when I try to swap in the Dellorto 48. LOL Got me some hockey pucks too install as well.

What really got me, was as you can see in the pic, the PO knew cause there's a wire that he tried to wrap in electrical tape. Ended up using a dozen butt connectors and still had to run another wire for my fuel pump.
