Thumbs up Something fun for Kids to do! June 9th

June 9th from 10-3:30 Thun Field airport is having a young eagles day.

Pilots are donating their time, planes, and fuel to give kids (8-17) a free flight to introduce them to the world of aviation. A gauardian or Parent must be present.

It takes about 1.5 hours to go thru the whole program of a ground school, teaching them the basics of flight, then its up in the air for a 15 minute flight. They try to take the kids over the Tacoma Dome or the fair grounds so they can see the world from another view point.

They will also recieve a certificate signed by Harrison Ford (yep that famous actor is our Young Eagles Chairman) He will not be present and these are printed with his signature...

I used to work in the aviation industry (installed Landing systems) and these events are very cool and worth the time to attend. Your kids will thank you for going I promise!

Its definately a blast, and doesnt cost anything but you time. I should mention that early in the morning is best as the temps are low and fewer turbulance.
We usually do 200- 300 kids in a saturday and this is an annual event..
