As some of you may know...
Tim, I agree, I just came back from Tempe. Weather was beautiful, mid 70's and the locals were complaining it was cold
Scenery was beautiful, I went to Papago Park (across the street from the zoo) and Sedona Park(similar to grand canyon) which were both sweet. I about died laughing when I saw drive though liquor stores all over and bottles of patron on the shelvs at safeway. Roads were very nice from what I saw, seemed like they pave them every year.
While I was there I realized I missed a few things that Washington has and Phoenix doesn't
1. No Hills, way to flat, for some reason that made me pissed, being able to see so far down each street or something not sure...
2. Lack of Air Quality, the air is just plain gross tasting there
3. No Seasons, I came back to Washington and all the tree's were yellow, green, red, and orange, actually made me appreciate having four seasons and not just two temps, hot and melt your face hot
4. people drive super crazy, sometimes 60 in a 25 is acceptible...nuts
5. Every guy and about 1/2 the girls hit on my girlfriend there, I knew I would have to worry about guys but having to watch out for girls too...
Tim I will be sure to make it out to visit you next time I go visit my gf, we can go drink and clubbin or something, have some fun!

^ I agree with Notveryhappyjack, Phoenix has no texture to the land. I used to live in Tucson, and that place is much nicer in my opinion. I love the Catalina mountain range, and the surrounding mountains. The view was simply awesome during large thunder storms. I do not think I'd like to go back, as I prefer WA. You will find crazy drivers all pretty much anywhere you go.
-Best of luck Tim!
I too have been looking for work, but plan to stick around the Pacific North West.
Good luck!

I wouldn't miss the seasons. I loathe the rain and I loathe the cold. Scenery is different but great in it's own right. So I wouldn't care about that either.
But as of right now it doesn't look like I'll be making the move, YET. I will at some point but I'm not hearing anything and I've been getting busy at work so we'll see what happens next

i've lived in NYC, south cali, and now WA, and i have to admit, out of all of them, i like the PNW the best. people are nicer, yea the weather sucks sometimes, but i dig the fact that rain and sleet take up most of our season, its better than terrorists, earthquakes, and stupid taxes located in certain states only (CA *cough, cough*) does, yesh yesh?

I grew up in Washington. I have lived in Miami, Alabama, Arizona (desert and in the mountains), Missouri, and I just spent some time in L.A. Everything is better everywhere else. Traffic, Weather, Cops, and most importantly the people... Seattle is the clickiest city I've ever been. Everyone hangs out in their little clicks and if you make it into one you'll do fine. The people here are just not friendly. For being the most "liberal" and "progressive" cty in the U.S. you'd think acceptance would be more common place. Respect. People respect each other less here. In other places in the US are much more formal and it isn't acceptable to leave your home and submit others to the smell of your unwashed *** and clothes. I'm tiard of my plans being ruined by weather. I'm tiard of 8 hours of day light in the winter. Most of all I'm sick of suffering from a Vitamin D deficiancy. Vitamin D is made in your skin from the sun. D affects Testostrone production. It's been estimated 80% of Washingtonians suffer from this. And it has been theroised that it could be part of the reason that W.WA has the 2nd highest suicide rate in the world. low Testostorone = no happy men. We also rank top ten in divorce rate in the U.S. states.
Tacoma, WA ranks #1 as the most stressfull city in the U.S.

Pay; Seattle is the one of the most expensive place to live in the U.S. Although our middle class is vast and basically pays well and we live well. The necessities and the nice things here are much more expensive. We have the highest gas taxes in the nation. We have the highest business taxes in the nation. We were voted the worst place in the U.S. to start a small business. **** I went to the nicest itialian resturant in Beverly Hills, best food I've ever had. 3 people plenty of drinks was only $100 with tip, and I spend $80-100 all the time for just my girl and I.

Well then I have a very simple question for you: Why do you still live here?
And I have to tell you that I also have lived in Miami and L.A. and there is NO WAY in hell that the people here are more rude or violent or aggressive than in those places specially Miami where you have one of the worst drivers in USA and people are plainly stupid everywhere you go!
Well I guess that we are all deviating from Tim's post and started the pointless "I like it, I dont like it thread"

tim save room for my crap in the moving van, cant get the bike sold to fix the car, and its getting to cold to ride up here, lol might have to just pack up and go down there with the bike, jobs are few and far between up here
Hey, blueshift has a good point regarding the heat, I hope you have all or most of the reliability mods done to your car already, specially the ones related to cooling.
I heard so many times here about the cooling problems and such but never really experienced it because of the cool weather in Seattle until I went to the Baker drive last year and the car overheated when I got to the top of the mountain. Of course that was mainly related to the altitude but it goes to show that the stock cooling system is not up to the task to take anything too demanding.
So I hope Arizona is not too harsh on your car.

lol It will be as harsh as Washington
The FD sits in storage for about 350 days per year. And yeah it's got all the reliability mods and then some, plus a custom bad coolant seal so it's in need of a rebuild.

Yeah I haven't licensed the car since the tabs expired in July 2005. And since then ran into a blown coolant seal thanks to a thermostat that seized and overheated the engine hardcore
I haven't looked into it. I'm pretty sure there is emissions in Arizona where I'd be but I'm not positive.
I should be getting a call today from the company apparently.
