OK Some clarification for those "ON THE FENCE"
Teams only require 4 members, you get more points for a full team, but to compete you only need 4.
Plus the autocross is 50% of the score, AND the rules require street tires for street competitors, so you dont have to worry about running against race tires, you can drive your street car to the event and have confidence your running against similar level of cars, then it comes down to the basic performance of your car and the drivers. (street tires means 140 treadwear or higher, think Falken RT615's)
Unless you want to field a PRO team as well.

No offense David, but Scott's is probably going to be faster. Can you bring your's out to the August BSCC event so I can drive it TO in the afternoon. I'd be up to drive Scotts if we decide. Extra points for females on the team.
#12
No offense taken. Scott's car is very well sorted. Plus boost screws with cars on the auto-x track. If I have a new reaer end by then I would be up for drag. My car is probably better suited for that anyway.

clayton, I'll donate my fd for the cause, cept it is an (ewww) automatic..let me know if you are interested and we can sort it out at a bscc meet prior to packwood....
I am sure scott's car is quicker round the course, but it cant hurt to have 2 options. Rotorette - want to take a lap?

Jenkin - I'd love too. David, boost just adds an unexpected element - it's not too bad New rear end could help. I think we can have more than one car in the autocross - I just browsed the rules though and could be wrong.

rules are, no more than 2 drivers per car in any one event. but I guess you could run more than one car per driver, as long as that car never has more than 2 drivers total. We did that last year when one drivers car broke during runs.

SO the NW Nissan guys seem to think they have this event in the bag IF they feild a team?
Part of the SMACKDOWN challenge has always been SMACK TALK, thats part of the fun, logging on to other forums and telling them how good you are. I have cars in both camps so I'm neutral, plus I'll likely be running in the pro class for NWAA anyway so I just get to stir the pot, which is way fun too

I'm thinking we may need to bring the Volvo club out for this too. Can we drive with more than one club and will the autocross course be like a Porsche club course or Miata club course?

Vague,WOW haven't heard that one before, confusing yes vague no.
OK I wrote them so I can probably help out.
Teams need to have AT A MINIMUM 4 drivers/2 cars.
they can have as many as 10 pre-designated "TEAM" members. No more than 2 drivers per car. Only 4 people are pre designated to compete for points in any one event, but the other members of your team CAN run in any, or all of the competitions. And by doing so, your team scores "bonus" points for participation ( up to the 10 max). You also score bonus points if one or more of your team members is a woman AND competes in that event whether on your official SCORING team or not.
So if you pick say your best 4 drifters and they run the drift, they accumulate points according to the points system based on thier finish position relative to ALL the other pre designated teams.
But you registered 4 ADDITIONAL team members for that event and 2 of THEM were women, you would get bonus points added to your best drifters score for the participating members and additional points for the women. these are not based on their score, just the fact that they tried out the challenge. Participating member bonus points add up allot over the course of the weekend, so it is to your benefit to load up if possible.
You are not REQUIRED to field 4 team members for each event, but if you don't, you have 0% chance of winning, because it is a cumulative score. Last place still scores one point. You COULD show up by yourself and declare yourself a "Team" but even if you were the best at all 3 you would lose. What we have done in the past, if a team shows up with say only 3 members, is ask for volunteers from the "uncommitted" people registered. These are people who run just for fun, we then add one of them to a team that was short a member, works out ok and you get to meet new people, but don't count on this at the last second better to have your minimum 4.
We put the 10 member cap on, to prevent any big team from "Buying" the event with participation bonus points and beating out a team that is smaller but has better drivers. There is actually room in the event for 12 separate drivers, but we wanted at least a few members to have to compete in at least 2 of the 3 events.
To clarify ANY member of your group, team or not, can register and run ANY of they events, provided there is room under the event cap, as in we have not yet reached our max entries. We don't want to exclude anyone if possible. Also if you CANT find more than say 3 members, we can probably help you out by finding a volunteer.
