RX3 Wagon

RX3 Wagon
If all goes well there may be another RX3 Wagon in the northwest soon.
Deal is set and all that needs to be done is sign papers and get the car back here from SoCal.
Robert and Kevin are on their way down there to get it and tow it home.
We're pretty excited about it, but it's a long trip there and back.
Wish them a safe journey.
More details when there is something to report.

After about eight hours of driving Kevin heard a vibrating sound coming from under the truck. Lucky he heard it cause one of the tires had a slash in it and had to be replaced.
They are now about 14 hours into the journey and the brake/tail lights went out.
I told them to find a motel and get some rest. Fix the lights before continuing.
It's a good thing that they took some tools.
Hopefully they can make the last three hours of the drive to the Wagon in the morning, rested and safe.

They're on the road again.
The truck started over heating during the climb up the grapevine, so they are now pulled over waiting for it to cool down before they finish the ascent. It's better to wait a few hours and have a running rig than to wait a few days with a burnt engine.
They will swap in a new thermostat when they are over the mountain.
There is a rotary enthusiast named Hector in Bell, that has an incredible stash of old school and other rotary parts. He is only about 15 minutes from their original destination. So if all goes well (knock on woody), there may be an opportunity to pick up some rare parts. If anyone needs or wants something, now may be a rare opportunity to get some rare parts. The window of opportunity has a quick shutter.

A quick (like the OJ freeway car chase) drive through the streets of a Pulp Fiction movie-like neighborhood of LA, with the sweet RX3 Wagon on the trailer, to pick up a couple of RX4 fenders and their headed back home.
They picked up the spare parts from hector, and they've made it up and back over the grapevine. No overheating problems after clearing that mountain range but they had to make several cool-down-fill-with-water-and-go stops on the way up.
Robert drove all day and Kevin may drive all night or until he's ready to rest. Then he'll stop at a motel, sleep and hit the road for the final leg.

Well after 1 flat tire, 4 overheats, and losing half the exhaust on the truck, we made it!! It was VERY worth the drive. And a good experience overall. Hector was a neat guy. He had about 10 old school rotary cars in his yard, and Lots of parts!!
We lucked out big time.
Well I took the pics @ 5 megs and they are to big to load. I will shoot a few in the morning at a lower res.
