Did you see the ad for the $750 RX-8 motor with 19k miles and a blown head gasket?

"this rx7 has ONLY 140k mileage on it!" the best selling point of the car, hahaha.

Yeah an acquaintance of mine called me today to tell me about the RX8 motor he saw on Craigslist and ask me to come see a really gay RX-7 that's been for sale for several months that's overpriced. I new exactly which one he was speaking of. Thankfully, otherwise I would have ad to forge and excuse not to go over there...

Well the craigslist ad has been deleted, so I don't know if this is a joke thread or what. So not sure what to follow on this thread. But I've seen a couple fb's an old friend with 300k plus on the clock, sold one to my uncle last year which just turned 300k original motor, thing still runs like a beast from what I'm told.

We had a client that had 350K on the clock and I was able to get the speedo cluster before thge car was crushed a few months back, and that car was all factory with no rebuild...

he was the 2nd owner and we did all the work on it up in till he sold it to Pull-A-Part in Tacoma this year...

There was a guy in the first-gen section that said he hit 500K on the original motor. It was in the "high mileage 12As" thread.

It's possible, I just don't think it's appropriate to make such a bold statement when marketing the motor

I know rotaries last over 100k miles. I would not want to run one up to 200k miles without a fresh set of hard and soft seals. It doesn't make sense not to. Do you like oil leaks and damaged rotors? I don't consider it a badge of honor.

Until you have oil leaks or see compression falling, there's not point unless your modifying the internals. If the car still runs great, leave it alone.

My FC had 250K on her when I parked her. That was the mistake. Don't stop driving the cars, or they will start to develop gremlins.
