No, it is not stock!

You have not explained the intent of this organization. Why is it called "rotary engine special vehicle"? What is meant by "skilled people who understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of the vehicle."?
Are you only interested in preserving vehicles that were manufactured with rotary engines? Was my rotary powered GLC or my rotary powered Porsche "special"? What about a beautifully maintained RX-7 with a piston engine? Is that "special"?
Just asking ----

You can join if you do your own work.
Im pretty new to rotaries, but I have done all my own maintenance and have pledged to keep my vert looking good.
He said I was welcome to join up.

Seems like a snooty club for stock rx (or antique) owners that don't want to be associated with the people that mod them and drive them like sports cars... and break them and fix them.
Tweak, you needn't try to apply, "people who understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of the vehicle."

RESVP - Membership
One does not need to have an RX7 to be a member of RESVP.
There are no requirements to own or to have any vehicle, to become a member.
Membership is for those that think there are rotary engine vehicles, special enough to be preserved.
Here is a link where one can show ones desire to become a member.

Tweak is most welcome to RESVP. I respect Tweak and defend his right to do whatever he wants to his car. It would be an honor to have Tweak as a member of RESVP.

RESVP - Different
One difference may be that RESVP is non-profit while some of the ones you listed, are not.

What is the actual purpose of this organization? Is it just declaring your support for the preservation of rotary powered vehicles, or is there something more to it? I mean, either way is fine, I'm just wondering.

There are quite a few rotary clubs that are at least somewhat active in this area.
this one
RPNW (meets in beaverton)
No Pistons
Rotary Car Club
and now RESVP.
The motives for this club seem similar to RPNW. Just a group of guys that are fans of a fantastic series of cars and are dedicated to keeping as many of them on the road as possible.
Also Nick, just because my vert is stock and happens to be in great condition does not make me a snooty douche. I'm not afraid to drive the **** out of her. It may only be a stock heavy vert, but its a very clean, comfortable, reasonably fast, and fun car.

That doesn't really answer my question, though. What specifically happens if you join? Are there meets or something? Is there any practical difference between this and joining one of the various rotary forums?

So basically you are sayin that in order to join
:provide, promote and support the acquisition:I got a car,I talk about my car,and my Bank account supported the acquisition of it!
:appreciation, restoration, preservation, operation,e njoyment:My car better appreciate me because I am restoring it back to its Driveable state so I can enjoy it!
What the Hell..I'm doing that now!

RESVP - Membership
There will definitely be meets or something. BBQ's, drives, and other RESVP events are envisioned.
I'm not sure what a "practical difference" you might be referring to but there are differences between RESVP and the various rotary forums. RESVP is not a competitor of these forums and is not attempting to solicit away any of the forums' business. RESVP supports an open communication of rotary engine information. These forums provide a medium for that open communication.
My vision is to see RESVP a brick and mortar entity which may or may not have its own electronic presence. In other words, a building with its own special vehicles where the preservation processes can be done.
As a member, your obligations are few. In fact, right now, there are no obligations of membership.
If you want to join or quit, that is your decision which you make freely. A note to me would be sufficient to either quit or join.
Peace.
