I need someone to do some work on my 87 GXL. I did a search for mechanics on this site and pretty much everyone said good luck but some of the threads dated back to 04.

My starter went out the day before I left for vacation in California. I have been looking for some parts and went to a couple Mazda junk yards in Sacramento. The starter I got was for a flipping automatic, I don't think I will be returning that anytime soon. So I got another starter here, it's defective, only putting out 4 volts. I found that out after buying a new battery. I am returning that starter today. I also think I have something going on in the drivetrain I would like checked out. It makes noises when I engine brake and vibrates when I accelerate, that started after taking a 30 mph corner at about 60, what can I say these cars can corner.

I picked up some new switches, heater blower motor, rear windshield wiper & antenna and some other miscellaneous trim parts and three RX7/Mazda manuals. Some of this stuff I can do myself but the drivetrain & starter I can't do because a) I'm not strong enough and b) I don't know anything about drivetrains.

I have a garage, floor jack, etc., now I need someone who knows RX7s. Oh and one of my switches didn't pass the smoke test.
