RE-Matsuri NW 2019 Official Thread

I am pleased to announce a rotary enthusiast meet over Memorial Day weekend in 2019. The venue would be in conjunction with the Moses Lake Spring Festival. Akin to the former Northwest Rotor Rally and Apple Blossom Festival. This is an event with all the trappings of a car show, music, carnivals, downtown shops, parade, food, and a 3on3 basketball tourney. The area is pretty lively.

Agenda:

Friday: arrival, buffet dinner and drinks at TenPin Taphouse. Lodging at the Ten Pin Inn.
Yes, the Taphouse, casino, bowling alley, restaurant, brewery and hotel are on the same property.

There are 20 rooms blocked for the "Rx7 Club" Price is $85 a night. Please contact TenPinInn at 509 764-7500 for reservations. April 17th is the cut off date to keep the rooms.

Saturday: Car show (9am-3pm) Hosted by the Moses Lake Classic Car Club. $25 dollar entry fee, includes dash plaque, I believe a shirt and other "swag" or "loot" or whatever this stuff is called now. Funds raised by registration go to Food Bank and supports Big Bend Community College automotive students.

Awards and Raffles at Chicos Pizza (4pm-7pm) Room is booked as of Dec
Moonlight Parade (est start time 8:15, but participating cars usually go first so staging times will be earlier)
For those not interested in the parade, the carnival continues or other options is the TenPin or ???

Sunday: Sober up and go home. Any other ideas?

Of course thing cans be added. (mobile dyno had been done in the past... Maybe a tech session? Rebuilding, tuning...ect)

Why Moses Lake? You may ask. ABF had challenges. Everything was miles away from everything else and tickets were issued fairly liberally. Most of the law enforcement is busy at the sand dunes so it is not the presence Wenatchee had. There is also something there for everyone, significant others are not locked at the car show like at the ABF car show.

I am also looking for volunteers and event supporters to assist in bringing this together.

Here's to a fun gathering of rotorheads !

I had the honor to attend a meeting with the Moses Lake Classic Car Club. Talked to the president and a few members about our event and they are happy to be part of it. We will have our own section in the Civic Park to call our own during the show.

As of 3/15 we have 70 days to RE-Matsuri! I have 11 people saying they will attend and 49 interested. On to business: April 17th is the cut off date for our 20 reserved rooms at the TenPinInn ( Call 509 764-7500 and book under RX7). The Moses Lake Classic Car Show has their registration posted. http://www.moseslakeclassiccarclub.c...ation_form.pdf I was considering including this to all Matsuri entrants, but not everyone may be interested in displaying their RX. So car show registration will be the responsibility of those who want to display their car. I have made contact with the hosts and was promised a space where we can be together as a group. I do hope everyone displays their RX. This is not a concourse show. So lets have fun with it! I have a quote for t-shirts looks like between $10-$20 per shirt depending on attendance. 40 shirts were about $10 a piece. Looks like a 2 week turn around. To finish this up, On April 17th I will need confirmation on who will be attending. Within that week I plan to collect funds for Friday' Nights Taco Bar at TenPin Brewery, Saturday Night's Pizza at Chicos and the T-shirts. If anyone would like to contribute "time and talents" please let me know. Thank you!
