Pulling my motor.
Pulling my motor.
Hey everybody,
I'm trying to pull my motor from my FD. I've got most of the intake and coolant stuff off, but I'm not really sure how to attack the tranny/motor part. I've got tools, a lift, and a stand, and I'm pretty sure I have a leveler sitting around. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.
BTW, I'm in Bremerton, WA.

not sure where you need assistance walking through, maybe this will help as I cannot come in person to assist.
-remove hood
-drain fluids
-unplug battery
-disconnect everything from the block that will stay in the car once the engine is free
-remove the 5 transmission bell housing to rear iron bolts, note which position they we removed as they all are diff size lengths
-remove the 2 engine mount nuts
-use a engine hoist level, attach it to the front and rear irons in a central location, the block will tip over a little when it is lifted so be smart
-remove the engine and leave the transmission
-put a brick under the transmission
anything in particular that is holding you up ?

Fd's are not that simple, you need to take the bolts that attach the pressure plate to the flywheel through the inspection hole at the bottom of the bell housing.then you can pull the engine, and then it is easy to release the lock ring that holds the pressure plate to the throw out bearing.
