which port job?
which port job?
i'm planning to rebuild my motor and, of course, port it. i'm torn over which intake ports to use.
i'd like to use a half-bridge, but i'm a bit concerned with the emissions testing in OR.
if i don't use a half-bridge, then i'm going to use a streetport.
has anybody in OR passed emissions with bridge or half-bridge ports?

I tried it in Washington on a freshly rebuilt mild streetported 12A with a brand new cat. Failed, but I was close enough that if I'd tried harder (premixing alcohol, tuning lean, etc.) I probably could have gotten it to squeeze by. But I didn't care; I had my waiver. Not sure how Oregon's standards compare to ours, but that might give you an idea.
did you pass smog with a streetport? unless u have a descent ems to correct the fuel its likely gonna fail. also running the catalytic converters close to the motor helps get them hotter to burn the harmful fumes. with rotary heat, u can probably heat two universal cats. but i would only make them bolt in so u can remove them as they will likely melt if u run them all the time because of the rotaries high egt's.

My 7 passed smog in Seattle with Street port little over a year ago, But I still Have Stock main CAT (until this SAT then I get my MID-pipe!!) and airpump... That helped. It was pretty close to failing though.
I think you could get a small street port to pass, as long as overlap wasn't increased. Not to mention, a way to tune the engine. Throw some alcohol in there, pop some oxygen into the exhaust, and viola!

well what im going to do is, i am building my TII w/ a half-bridge, but i am going to buy a NA engine drop it in the chassis i'm trying to drive hopefully i'll pass then drop the ported TII in after i passed emissions.
The fresh air to the cat and maybe a little denatured alcohol are your saving grace!
