PNW Mazda Club
PNW Mazda Club
A few of us on the Mazda3forums site have begun to put together a PNW Mazda club - right now it's just getting off the ground but I'm working on a website that we can use to centralize communication rather than a dozen different forums for different models. First order of business is to build a roster of interested drivers so I'm working on building a web-form / database for this. Should be up shortly.
Currently the site is just a splash screen but it will be located here:
www.pnwmazda.com
The thread we are using to coordinate it all:
http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=56240.0
If anyone has any questions feel free to let me know. I doubt I'll be on this board often but will try to check back.

ST3!

But all of that is way too early to even think of / discuss. Right now lets try and get Mazda drivers together to form something - I'm jealous of all the other clubs out there! Spending time with my girl's dad at the Porsche club events, etc has been awesome, cant wait for us to have something like that for the Mazdas.

What year ya got... I got sick of putting them in as options... how far back should I go.
if you get this going with a large enough group pacific raceways might allow track days for the club. My uncle is on the board there, and said bmw has a club that gets a few track days. Right now BMW is the only club that has track days. Count me in on this though

The following all have track days:
Audi
Alfa Romeo
Porsche
Rose City Corvettes
Motocorsa (Ducati Bikes - Some car days (Lotus) as well
Cascade Sports Car Club - instructional
Team Continental - instructional
Shelby Club
Oh, and the BMW club.

I'd say it should go back to 1970, since that was the year Mazda officially entered the US market with the RX-2.
Also, if it's feasible, there should be an option to change your car later, or maybe even to add multiple cars. Just my $0.02.

I'd like to see a profile section where users can show off their vehicle(s). Login to a members only area, etc.

You might want to check out this club website for Rotary Rockets of Washington. They didn't seem to be able to keep it going, and they had a pretty good membership a few years ago. They were having Dyno Days, among other activities.

You need to establish what is the purpose of the club. Presumably the members would share some common interest. What is that going to be?????
What common interest do you have with a guy driving a Mazda 3 that you do not share with someone who is a rotary enthusiast and has stuffed a rotary into a VW or MG??? What about people who have put a V8 into an RX-7??? If you eliminate people with imagination and creativity, not to mention fabrication skills, you will have little to learn from each other.
These guys have a nice web site:

Although I am maybe the sole individual driving this right now. I hope to not be the only. With that said, a lot of these aren't my decisions to be making. I've got a ton of ideas and I see what you are saying in regards to sharing the same interests. As I said though, I'm really only trying to get a ball rolling. This is a hobby and I have limited time to put into it. Hopefully in the coming months we can really get this organized, meet up with some folks for a few beers and start hashing out plans.

?! I'm there!!!
