Even better, Team Continental has a Driver's School at PIR on February 27th (Sunday), for $150. These are much better than lapping days, where you go fast but learn relatively little. I've taken the TC school before and it's really quite good.

Rob and Mike are working on your car right now. Someone used a cookie wheel to clean the lower intake manifold, which is a bad idea because it creates low and high spots. No wonder the gasket wasn't sealing. It had to be leveled with a sanding board and checked with a straight edge. I believe they also found one or more untermintated vacuum lines or ports, but I haven't really been paying close attention because I've been busy with my own work. Anyway, progress is being made. Let's just hope they identify all the problems, so they don't have to tear into it again after putting it back together.

Thanks for the update Blake....Cannot tell you how hard it is to not call and ask how it's going! If I didn't know how it feels on the recieving end, I'd probably call him! I didn't think the lower manifold face was cleaned that way. Hmmmm. There were several of us working to get the car done for a show....we didn't make it. Did Rob tell you about the 78' seat quote? Don't go spinning my car around the block sideways until I get to!! John
P.S. Those R compounds have zero grip in the wet...pretty much like ice. Good times..good times

I signed up for the PDX Alfa club email list. I figured I should have gotten some notification from them by now. Who do I need to contact to sign up?

As far as the Audi club goes, do you have contact info?

As posted above, the Pacific raceway calendar is up. You guys from PDX should checkout the Alfa club track days up here. They have an event every month starting in Mar/Apr thru Oct.

Plus we have hills to descend & climb. The neat part is the back section has very little runoff until you either hit the trees or the tire wall.

Always entertaining to see a M3 or Cobra Mustang all fucked up on a flatbed truck. Both done on the warm up lap

Well, the vacuum leaks are gone but there are apparently several problems compounding things. Your throttle cable was WAAAAAY too tight, which apparantly was done to compensate for miss-set throttle plates and the ill-advised use of an NA BAC valve (no idle compensation), etc. Rob was here until 9pm last night and he's back at it this morning. Give him a call this afternoon and I'm sure he can tell you all the details. The moral of the story is that doing it right the first time is less trouble than doing it twice.

Team Continental's web site is http://www.teamcontinental.com/. The link to the Driver's School info is on the upper left of their home page. They have a bunch of schools, including one in February and one in March. SCCA also has started doing HPDE (High Performance Driver Education) schools. Most schools will be early in the year so people can qualify for their novice racing license. Also keep in mind that "lapping" days held by various clubs normally require at least one formal "school" before you can participate.

Yeahhhhhh. I wanna go to Hawaii..yeah Hawaii!! Ok, so I'm stupid. So ill advised advise and application, so what. Geez..ream me in front of the world. J/k The last thing that I wanted to do was get it all together and have Rob look at it for me. Call it pride and or determination, but I am glad that I have the Rotor master telling me the car runs now! Seems to be a possible fuel issue remaining, but we'll see. Tell Rob that I'll have my 10 and 11 year old boys down there doing odd jobs to pay for the mounting R&D bill!

It's a deal! We'll put them on the tech line. We don't actually have a tech line but that doesn't stop people from calling for free tech advice. Rob must spend 4 hours a day answering questions for non-customers. Real customers complain about not being able to get through. If I can get some 10 and 11 year olds to take over on the phones, we'd get a LOT more done in the shop and, eventually, the freeloaders would stop calling. Brilliant!

Okay i'm a little slow since it kind of late for me at this time, but what is this list for: PIR or Pacific Raceways? I'd be interested in a Pacific Raceways event.

Thanks!
Edgardo
