Yea i just saw that show tonight. I'm not really sure if it was a repeat, but it sure was ****ing awesome. What really got my interest was when the opposing team with a front wheel drive honda hatch said rotor.
Anyway, from what the show said it was speed machines rx7. It was a s5 turbo with a haltech im guessing from the sticker on the side of the car. The rx7 only had a turbo and was running on drag radials. The turbo Honda was running on slicks and had nos.
The first race was all heads up with the Honda using nos. Outcome well the Honda won by a couple car lengths.
The second race the rx7 was given 3 or 4 car lengths with the Honda still using nos. Outcome was the rx7 winning.
The third race the Honda was given 1 car length with no nos. Within the negotiations the Honda had to take out there nitrous bottle. Outcome the rx7 won by a lot.
The fourth race the Honda was given 4 car length with no nitrous. Outcome the rx7 wont by a lot.
Of course since the rx7 wont the most races they took the Honda home with them. Funny thing is that the guys in the Honda took out a fake nitrous bottle, so the whole time which everyone thought they werent running nos in fact they were.
God i love rx7's.

First race was 2 lengths for the 7 and using nitrous, the guy driving the 7 bogged it BIG TIME on the launch.
Second race the "NOS" was removed from the Honda, well the bottle
And it was 3 lengths for the 7 still. And of course the 7 won since he didn't bog this time 
Third was finally heads up, still no nitrous. And the 7 won again!
Fourth was 4 lengths for the Honda and no bottle. AWESOME FREAKING LAUNCH BY THE RX7. It was sweet.
That fake nitrous was funny as hell I must agree. They just wanted more negotiating power. I also thought it was funny as **** when the rx7 almost wouldn't start a couple times, hahahaha "It's WAY hot," "Yah its hot, give it a minute it'll start." So funny, I love it. Really was built from spare parts, that motor must've had shitty compression and was having the normal hot start issues.

they never had nos hooked up...
they blew a coupler. thats why the car went from winning to completely falling behind. *they didnt have a boost gauge in the car *

Sounds like a personal problem to me. If you didn't notice, the shitty compression rx7 engine could barely start at the beginning of the last 2 or 3 races. Both teams had **** to deal with, oh well. The honda guys should've had a boost gauge in the car and come prepared to not have time to check **** between runs.
Besides if they were allowed to change/check things in between runs, who's to say Dave couldn't have upped the boost from 12 to 26 psi and been a **** ton faster?

OK, so what times were they making?? was it 1/4 mile?
i dont have cable, so i never watch that show.
i'd like to see a race with a budget of no more than $3000, cars must be imports, naturally asprated, no NOS, no turbos/SC etc... and must meet NHRA tech for the speed they run..... how fast would they be?

IMO it's stupid to show a 1/4 mile race and not time it! How are you supposed to know if the cars are even all that fast??? For all you know they could be horrible drivers and they are running 14's with their massive turbos.......... I think it would be more interesting, then you'd know what that person is really getting rather than going off what the owner CLAIMS he has for mods and hp

Lack of good tuning, having poor/under performing cars or just being plain slow I think is some of the main reasons why alot of these kinds of shows don't post 1/4 mile times and/or they do alot of 1/8 mile drags. I mean come on...1/8 mile drags? That just screams my s#!t is slow!
It's not about how fast the cars are. It's about the strategy and getting your opponent in a position to lose. As you know, speed is relative. It only matters if you're faster than your competition. And if you know you're not faster, trick your competition into giving you and advantage.

I don't like that show for a few reasons.
1. The host is a dumb **** and doesn't know anything about cars or racing.
2. People sand bag the first two and whoop *** after that.
3. I'm starting to see the same faces with different cars which tells me Speed may be paying them.
4. No 1/4 mile times.
5. You don't start with lights, just a dumb *** waving his arms.
6. They have cameras everywhere but the host and the judges don't watch the tapes, so the lies still fly.
8. They give each other car lengths.
9. They go to commerical at the start of every race.
10. The owners lie and say they are changing there oil when they are actually rewiring some ****.
11. And many more that I can't think of now.
But hey the 7 can't lose.

Which is one reason why they didn't let them change/touch anything in between races
The honda dude was bitching about it on hondatech. He was saying bla bla blew intercooler coupler bla bla more bitching bla bla. He claimed if he had been able to fix it, which they wouldn't let me check, he would've won or some ****.

Sounds like a Honda driver.... all I have to say is 30 psi on a SOHC D series??? Come on dude!!! You wouldn't stand a chance WITH nitrous against a 7 with a GT45.... Evene it was built out of spare parts!
What I couldn't believe is he guys with the 7 were estimating the Honda had over 400hp with a SOHC!!! YEAH RIGHT.... Maybe if they were running an H22 or a B series......

i dont blame you for hatin the show. however you need to visit this site coz its been explained why they dont use tree/lights, lap times. Visit this FAQ : http://www.pinks.tv/video_FAQ.php.
And of course, they need commercials coz its a show, they are paying for airtime, commercials means sponsorship and money. Well, if u dont feel watching the show u can just change the channel anyway. But i agree with you FC's cant loose. I wanna see more FC's on the show though.

And you sound like a typical RX-7 driver.......nothing can beat an RX-7 right? lol
My friend Pat layed down 275hp to the front tires on stock block D series turbo'd and ran a 12.3 with full interior. The Full race prepped h/b all stripped was a quick car and no joke
No doubt the RX-7 was quick to but gimmie a a break " oh wouldnt stand a chance with NOS blah blah blah" seriously you sound like your 18 grow up, there are all kinds of cars that are fast....yes even hondas.
P.S. I own both a Modded TII and a Turbo Honda so I am on both sides of the fence.

i tottaly agree theres so many varible things that you can do to a car they all have a big chance at whooping a 7 and so does the 7 have a varible of things to whoop the other cars so ya cant just say 7s will beat all cars
