PICS of my rx1!!!

Well just thought i would share pics of my rx7. I know most you hate the thought of ls1 in rx7. But i have had the swap done since april and i have put about 7,000 miles on it and i love it. I ran a 12.5 with 115 mph and a 2.1 60 foot. On street tires and coilovers. I plan on drifing that car, not drag racing though. I have nothing agains rotoarys so not a hater, just wanted to do the swap to see what it was like and it was easy took about 3 weeks to get it up and running. All i have dont since is change the oil once. Also puts down about 340 whp and 350 foot pounds of torque. I plan on doing a differnt exhaust and cam and heads next spring. Enjoy.

Also the car wieghed 2850 bone stock. Now weighs 2670 with quarter tanks of gas and no spare.

You need to post a picture of your exhaust for these other kids to see. It looks so close to stock!! Your car scares me. By far one of the cleanest FC's I have ever seen inside and out. And it's definitely a "sleeper" as long as you stay off the throttle. Still pretty quiet though. I love it!

Yea i am actually opening up the exhaust here soon to a dual 3inch madrel bend exhaust. I am actually loosing about 15 hp right now. I have dual 2.25 to small with 2 resionators so all you here is the motor and intake.

Nice clean install. Now the real questions, total cost involved in doing the swap, ie. buying the engine, tranny, driveline, radiator, Does it wash out as opposed to building a 350-400 hp rotary. Just curious, I swapped a s-5 T2 into my FB, If I had to do it again, I might go down another road.

BTW, did you have to strip out the rear hatch area,? Seriously I think your fast enough already. LOL

Total cost was 5,000 installed and running. That includes aftermarket headers and intake. The ls1 has 50,000 miles on it and it came with the 6speed t56 tranny, which is an awesome tranny. Just feels good to have a car that makes full power NA at 2500 rpms. 4th gear feels like second gear sometime. I have nothing agains rotoarys or any japanese motors. This is the only swap i like just because its cheap reliable, and makes good power stock or when modded. I know for a fact the ls1 weighs 120 pounds less then a ka. and is about 15 to 20 pounds heavier then a turbo rotary. But i located the battery in the back, and took off ac and ps so the motor is pretty damn light. I also get 22 mpg in town and 30 on the highway since the car is so much lighter then a camaro. and its a 6speed i am at 75 mph in 6th gear at 2,000 rpms. I have given many people rides that hate v8s and there soooooo impressed that 2 people i know now are working on doing the swap. My favorite thing about it is when i am driving it i totally forget its a v8 cause its doesnt feel heavy or anything. I alos love its a new motor and its local so parts are cheap and easier. But then love how the rx7 handles and looks,
The car is awesome for drifting since the motor is making so much low end power and doesnt even phase the motor at all. I had a 330 hp mr2 before this and i spent more money buying my gt2871r and standalone then finishing this swap. And this car was cheaper and ALOt faster.

The car looks nice. I wouldn't have taken the carpet out of it, just not worth it to me. 40-50lbs really is nothing with the big V8 power.

You say the LS1 is 120lbs lighter than a ka? What is a ka?

I've driven a LS1 FD, it really is a sweet race setup.

K20 is the honda RSX and new Civic Si motor. There's no A in the engine code. KA is the USDM Nissan 240sx motor and SR it the JDM Silvia (240sx) motor. The red carpet is NASTY. Especially if it gets dirty... I like the stripped floor look. It's CLEAN so it doesn't look bad
