PFC initial start up

So today was the first time I have been able to start up my FD since I installed my PFC a few weeks back. I have been having electrical difficulties and finally found the root of the problem. Anyways, initial start was very promising. Immediate ignition and it idles very smooth, unlike it used to with the factory ECU(it pulsed severely between 600 to 1800 rpm and would often stall). I took it for a very short, quick spin down the street since it's not licensed and I had good response... Wasn't able to open it up, but it was very smooth. The only thing was when I pushed the clutch in when I got back the idle shot up to 2000 rpm and then it dropped back to around 700 where it should be. I think maybe the car is just learning the new ECU. But I think tomorrow I might go pick up a trip permit and take the car out after I install my midpipe!! Exciting......... I know!

Arent you supposed to let the car go through a 'learning' phase? I thought you had to let it idle for like 10 minutes, then hold it at part throttle for 10 minutes, etc.... until the PFC learned the car? Or did you do that?

Yea I did that and that's when the idle went back down after it shot up to 2000 rpm.

Hope you have a ported wastegate or that motors not gonna live to see the day after the midpipe installation. And If I was you I would upgrade your injectors and pump if your wanting to run 14 psi. Your right on the verge of the stock fuel system.

Well the car is only going to be driven for this weekend! It was a test to see how the PFC helped the car and as far as the engine goes I'm not worried about it cuz it doesn't have much life left at 95k miles! And yes I know about upgrading the fuel system to run more boost! As of right now I'm back to the stock 10-8-10 with the PFC in there. But I did get a couple of spikes at 14psi last night. This car hasn't been licensed for almost a year and has only been driven 3 times since last summer so I am really not too worried about upgrading the fuel system until my new motor comes =) The only thing I can't figure out is how at 50% injector duty I'm still running rich with my mods... But I'm on the verge of the stock fuel system??? Hmmmm....... Stock injectors I have heard are good until about 75% and then it's pretty much pointless not to upgrade.... But as for now my car is functional, which was my main goal, and now I will just wait until I can order my new motor, fuel system, and turbos.........
