Oregon DMV/DEQ loopholes/requirements
Sooooo...I have a modified FB. My sig shows my mods+I'm getting a custom fabbed exhaust soon. My question is this: how do ya'll drive modified RX-7s and keep them licensed? I know that a custom exhaust won't pass DEQ visual inspection, let alone the actual test. Oh yeah, the car is currently licensed in PDX but I moved to Eugene. Will I have to pass DEQ if I live outside PDX metro?
The only time I have encountered visual inspection is on my pickup, where they check to make sure there was a cat on it since there was no emissions testing.
My new diesel truck is emissions exempt.
They kinda do a visual inspection.. they check for about half a second to see if there is anything vaguely cat-shaped in the exhaust, just using a little mirror on a stick.
Nothing under the hood or anything nonsensical like that :P
But it's a non issue if you live in Eugene just as Marc said

Um, wat? 1982 = Grandfather law, you have no inspection. Register in Portland, and tell the DMV it's too old to need to pass smog. Register in Medford, and do the same. Forget about I&M or inspections.
Grandfather law = older than 20 years
