Todays the day! Getting ready to go now, nobody has really talked about meeting up beforehand, so I guess we're just going to go straight in and try and hope they have the parking areas organized. I'd hate to be surrounded by VWs and Hondas.

See you guys there!

Only set of Hoshino's I saw there today. I REALLY want to get mine mounted now. These were pretty banged up.

That datsun was a real treat. SBS engine management system - not heard of them before. The tuner was literally a box with buttons on it and a 1-line LCD readout screen.

I got there late so they made me park with the new cars in the parking lot way out in the boonies would have been cool to kick it with you guys.

And that DJ can go eat some Dicks (hamburgers) - absolutely horrible. Btwn the group of 4 i was with, 3 of us are DJ's and would have been happy to relieve him of his duties at any time. Very poorly organized show - but amazing cars and people! We need more events of this nature.

There were a few exceptional cars - the 240Zshown above, (engine photo below), the electric DKW, which was an amazing restoration and gets my vote for the nicest car there. Some exceptional early Honda Civics, and a lot of Swedes, including the very rare SAAB 93 shown here.

I agree the guy constantly blabbing over the loudspeakers and the kindergarten games seemed completely unnecessary - motivated me to leave earlier than I otherwise would have.

You must have left before he started "scratching" and playing songs at half-speed, letting the music stop for 10-15 minutes then scrubbing through his playlist before finally picking another song to "scratch" and play at half speed.

I seriously thought an 8 year old got up there and was fooling around - then my buddy pointed out the DJ and I was like....

Stiletto your cars are amazing! Such a treat to see them there.

You should contact them on their facebook page, I bet they'd love a real dj, let you put out cards/banners/advertisement. I tried my best to tune out the music and concentrate on the cars.

Kids had a lot of fun too.

Next year I should take my wire cutters

I think most people go to these events to see interesting cars and talk with the people who own and/or built them. If I were organizing the Old School Reunion or any other car show, I would assume the participants are adults, and I would have:

No DJ and no music. If you must have music, let your DJ make a CD with a variety of music that will appeal to a diverse crowd of all ages, and whatever you do, don't give him a microphone.

No kindergarten-mentality games. If people need to be "entertained", let them go to the county fair.

No matter what kind of music you play, there are going to be lots of people who think it is boring or just plain annoying. I could not help noticing that a lot of the nicest and most interesting cars were owned by people with grey hair. My guess is they did not enjoy the so-called music any more than I did.
