I wouldnt pay more then MAYBE 800 for it, if it was super super clean.
$300 fix does not compute....

 

he is the guy who has been posting "want to buy rx7" ads on craigslist for the last few months.. He is a 7 flipper, sells them for a pretty penny and gets them for cheap.. I saw that ad a few hours ago and wondered how the logic there works too... I doubt that most who would get it could fix it, so a rebuild would have to happen and thats more than the 3k he is saying its worth when fixed... lol

 

Probably all trashed cars shined up. What a shame.

Wow that is not worth it... It sounds like it has the same issue my car does with the smokey... and I paid under $1000 for my car... ugh.

If someone pays $1,500 for that - I feel sorry for them. lol

 

ive met that guy a couple times, he is really weird and i would not buy anything he has. even the fb i see him in every once in a while is a pos. stay clear of him.

 

Is he on the forum? I saw these CL posting a few days ago and laughed a bit inside. A lot of people lately are trying to sell a 7 that need a "$30" part to be fine again. To bad that part is a coolent o ring! Haha, the misleadings of scandalous people... always trying to find a sucker to take advantage of.

 

i have been tumbling over the idea of throwing up a post on craiglist saying what it takes to have a rebuilt engine done, right next to his ad.... Tempting, and might help some poor kid who wants a 7 get it to find they dont have deep enough pockets and then give up on it entirely...

agreed. i was lookin into one a couple months back. the guy wanted 3k and he said it has some mystery coolant leak and that it blew a lil white smoke when it started. also going into limp mode "easy fix, only a new omp for 50$" i called him and told him his motor is toast due to the coolant seal and his omp that went out and id give him 300$ for the car. he said hes been running it in limp mode for the last year or so. he claimed he could still sell it for 3k and i laughed then hung up.

Sun roofs usually sell between 150-180, so asking 200 isn't redic. same with the GSl rearend. i've seen them sell as high as 350, so 150 isn't bad at all.

IMO I thought those prices were about right. $80 for a fender is about what some wrecking yards charge.
