Lol I will probably forget about this. But yeah, I think I'm the only portland guy that ever shows up to these local meets. I'm down with traveling a little bit south for a meet and drive.

Into The Land Of Sales Tax?!

Naww... For some reason us Oregonians have a semi-conscious mental block against going over the river.

I suppose heading North is technically possible..
But it's a lot easier to drive half an hour [to an hour and a half] than 3 ^_-

[It's not that I can't.. I can drive about 4.5hrs at a time without a break.. Donno about the others]

Sales tax is a shock to me Yea I'm cool with vancouver but Seattle is just too far for just a meet. I'll meet ya half way though.

Well Dave is probably referring more to the Olympia area or at least Thurston County, which is only about an hour and a half North of Portland... Having a REAL NW meet where people from more than one state show up, much like Apple Blossom.

To be honest, most of the guys that come out to the meets up here in Sales Tax Land are from Tacoma and south. Not many people in or North of Seattle come out to the meets. Dave is in the Olympia area. So maybe like a Kelso/Longview area meet would be a good halfway point. Or further north. Who knows

From what I have experienced, I'm like the only guy from portland who goes to meets. Most of the people who come to our meets are from south Oregon, so it's an extra long drive for them.

Ahh yeah I'm one of the select few who considers showing up to meets and pretty much the ONLY one who actually shows up every time I say I'm going to lol. Unless I get sick.

^^ Tim, how long were you on this board before you showed up to an event?

Yeah, I was thinking more like Vancouver. I right above Thurston (in Pierce) so that would only be a couple hour drive for me. I did not know that the majority of your "members" were from Southern Oregon.

Either way there are few few Oregonians that I have actually ever met.

There's definitely 7 owners in Portland, but they aren't on the forums. There hasn't been any real effort to unite everyone. I've tried a couple times, but no real progress.

If the meets were a little bigger than last weekends, I'd be willing to make more trips up to portland.

Speaking of doing a drive....I have a drive that will rock your world...It starts in Newberg and loops back around to newberg and is about 2 hours and with a great ending point of Bald Peak Park. Now if anyone knows of the bald peak drive you know what I am talking about...I'll try to do a mapquest but it consists of twisty back roads and amazing views...
It starts in Newberg takes Highway 240 to Yamhill then a back road to McMinnville, then take Highway 47 North towards Hillsboro
Then take a back road East towards Highway 219 which will then lead us to Bald Peak Park.

I found this route following about $3 million worth of super cars in my buddies WRX...Its all back roads and hardly ever cops. I will post a mapquest because this is truly one of the best driving routes in Oregon and somewhat central for both Washington and Southernfolk

lets have a meet and do that^
i'd much rather have a group drive than sit around in a parking lot.
