Not as easy as i thought....lol

So i tore down that car with the cage in it to put the cage in my car, however i had no idea of the level it was going to take... I just thought i would share the "end" pics of the tear down to get it out.... The cage is welded at every point to the frame all the way through... Someone did VERY well and i scored!

It looks like it would've been just as easy to take yours apart and swap the pieces over to that one ^_- ...Except it wouldn't destroy an FB

There was NO WAY to salvage the car with taking the cage out... Trust me if i didnt have to do what i did, i wouldnt have. Its not like it was fun or anything(ok maybe a little)... Plus it was a cali car, from a previous owner (not the guy i got it from) without a title... The car was welded to hell and back to be a track car and there was no way it could ever be used for street use. Plus seriously there was no way to get the cage out without cutting it in the ways i did, i gots skills with deconstruction, but this was F**KIN hard! Started at two pm, got done at 1 am.... And it took blood

see, the cage was welded to the frame all the way through and the frame was modified, to the upper control arms an how was i supposed to cut the rear out without destroying the shock towers

I thought about going through the bs to get the title, but i have an 83 and LOVE my interior (which i know i cant use the back half now...OR the lower door pannels...Custom ftw!) but i am not the biggest fan of the 84/85 dash switches and HAVE to run a 79/80 cluster.lol... And i found it cannot be swapped correctly.. So i did what i had to.. And all you FB owners should be thanking me, i am doing my part to increase the value of your car

And to the question of getting it back in.....i have to cut it in four spots.. Just to the left of middle on pass side. Put it in as two parts. Weld back togeather and then put reinforcement cups around it, then mount the posts for the harness' on those so they are extra strong... Cover rear, upper and middle with foam bars to make it look good and the custom upholstery will cover the bottom one YEAYA!!

I will also be adding two more bars to the front door bars to make them a little better in case of side impact... (whooooosssshhhhh off the peak into a tree sideways!)
