Full Roll Cage for a 1st Gen FB??
Just wondering if anyone knows the best place in Western Washington to either buy, or have a full roll cage put into an FB?
I want to put one in my 79, before thinking about a stereo and other goodies, ive heard of somewhere around puyallup that custom fabs them, but not sure, and sorry buy im not interested in CP Racing ones.

I can buy pipe, I am in welding class.... Problem is I want it to be SCCA Certified, and withstand Drags/Autocrosses.... I do not want to build one myself and not have it pass inspection. I'd rather let someone else take the blame.

let me know when you find a place jammers ive been thinking of the same thing.
Jammers (so you seem to go by) my good racing friend is hella into circuit racing. He's been around it his whole life.
The other day he reccomended a company to me, i'll have to go get their name, but he said they are just about the absolute best you could possibly want.
He said prices range anywhere from 750 to 1600, depending on how serious you really are. He said that they nearly re-inforce the entire inside of the car.
I'll get their name as soon as i catch him online.

Kettlman,
Well if you want to make it a project, see I'm just not too good at math, so therefor I don't want to cut the peices and try to put them in. I'm ok with welding, but still in school for that. If you want to try to put something together that would be awsome, but I want it to be SCCA certified Legal. As I will try to be racing this next one a lot.

A good friend of mine, Russ Nyberg, owns Racetech Fabrication (Portland, OR), which is one of the best shops in the Northwest, by far. Very reasonable, too. He drives an RX-7 himself, plus has helped me out quite a bit over the years.
There is a shop up here in Washington (Autosport), but the prices are very high and, from what I've heard, the quality is no better than Racetech. Also, Racetech is where the Oregon SCCA holds its annual tech inspection (at least for the last two years running), so Russ is intimately familiar with the head tech inspectors and how they interpret the rules.
BTW, you can see some of his work in the latest issue of Driving Sports magazine, where he custom fabricated a roll bar for our Miata project.

I think that if you are racing or creating less than 300hp it is pretty much useless. With 300hp in an FB my guess is that you would turn low enough 1/4's that a cage would be needed to be in the sanctioned races(granted you do not drive like a granny aka ME!).
Cages are cheap though in comparrison to many other mods. And just remember that triangles are you friends!
