Newbie here!

Hi my name is Zack, and I am going to be getting a a 93 RX7 RHD tomorrow! I am very excited, but nervous as well. I am going to be trading away my baby. Its a 2004 WRX with lots of goodies on it. I have driven a subie since I was 16, and know them inside and out! I am looking to expand my knowledge and learn all about mazda's and the rotary engine.

Any advice you guys have for me would be great... I also am wondering where I can go locally to get this thing tuned? It just had a fresh 13B swapped in it and has not been tuned yet..

oh and of course pictures will be coming soon.

Good luck. As much as I love 7's. If its not perfect. You're going to have headache after headache ( as my experience has shown )

Other then that, I hate you. I love those cars, and I'm just Jelly. Atkins is down in Puyallup. Not sure if they tune, but they do a LOT of stuff regarding rotaries.

Ya I am just nervous because I know exactly how my subaru works, and I have no idea how this rx7 rotary works.... but its time to learn! I will call atkins and see what they say, if they dont I am willing to bet they can refer me to a shop that tunes

Atkins doesn't do auto repair or tuning, they don't really do anything for FDs. Welcome to the club. Did you buy it for a weekend/project car or a daily driver?

Unfortunately there are no shops around here that do tuning for FDs and even just getting repairs done can be troublesome. Good luck and enjoy the car.

Jerry Wright - Jerry's Little Cars

It always amazes me how many people on this forum don't seem to know about the best rotary mechanic in the Northwest. If you want someone to "tune" your car, meaning to make it run properly, Jerry can certainly do that. If you want someone to make a bunch of illegal "tuner" mods to make it go faster, Jerry probably won't be interested, particularly if he doesn't know you.

If you are wondering about his qualifications, read this:

it will be my daily driver. I work part time at les schwab and go to University of Washington. But I will be graduating in august so I will be working full time again. Hopefully ill be able to pick up a different car to daily once I save a little.

And I dont want to mod the engine anymore. Its pretty stock, just exhaust, HKS heads and HKS intake. I just want it to run proper, not crazy and unreliable.

Looks like Jerry is the guy for me! Just looked at his site. The car just idles a little low It will drop to like 900RPM after like 20 seconds of idle. A new 13B was just put in it.

RX-7s are a very DIY community, so be ready to pick up your wrenches.. But it'll be worth it

I can't remember who's quote this is but... "with a Turbo rotary, priority #1 is don't blow the F&*#@% up!"
Something to keep in mind. ^_-
