New year at WSU. Who's all going?!?
I pretty much see what you're saying. I may have you help me with this when i bring the car out. I'm fairly certain i won't have the time to do that while i'm home this coming weekend.

I will bring my vac tester up with me next time and we will test your car if you can get it up here. We will just need to either locate a compressor, or use the free air + water things at the gas stations. Maybe schucks will let us ..... do some testing on theirs before we buy ... it.

oh yeah. I got pulled over on the way to pullman because I was missing my front lisence plate (opps forgot to put it back after removing the front bumper hehe) and he looked at my e11v2 and was like ... what is this?? (I had my laptop connected to it, the haltech sitting there that says "stand alone management system" and my wideband controller right next to that. I said, "oh this is to recalibrate my speedo, I just put new wheels on and its all screwed up." Then I showed him the receipt from les swab haha. O.o He was like oh.
He told me I need to put the stock exhaust back on and let go on my way. Stock exhaust LAWLZ. I am going to either dual my exhaust, AND or install the apexi active valve silencer. That should get em off my back. Surprisingly enough, this is the quietest exhaust I have ever had, but I haven't been able to get into boost yet so maybe not.

Lol, yay stock exhaust.
Btw, what exhaust are you running? I was thinking about doing my exhaust system then realized it would make most sense to wait until i make the turbo conversion. But really, my entire system right now is all but eaten away by rust. Except the manifold bolted to the engine, that is.
More update. my dad took the car in to get tested again this morning. It failed again, only not quite so hard.
Before the hydrocarbons were at about 1600 with the limit of 220 at idle, and this time it was at about 1300. Lol, so better is a relative term here. It goes into the shop tomorrow to get worked on. My dad's buddy knew a shop that had rotary experience
Glad your car is up and running. Can't wait to see how your engine bay looks compared to mine XD

hehe, well if you got noticed with your ricer muffler, i can only imagine what they'll say to no muffler, especially with an NA. and the neighbors would be thrilled to hehehe

i just cant bring myself to take it off...
Who wins the idiot of the year award?

So yeah, we have some news from the shop where they're taking a look at my car for the emissions. Apparently the air injection system is not injecting any air into the exhaust and venting it constantly. They are unsure of the cause.
Here's the kicker. I did a little research here on the forums and I'm pretty sure that i, in my moment of glory, switched the front and the back rotor housings while assembling the engine.
My question is... is this going to affect anything other than my emissions? Because I now qualify for the waiver, and I can correct this problem at a later date, like when I do my NA-T project next summer.
Now this isn't for certain that this is the problem, but I'm about 80% sure.

well...... no the holes in the housings only help with the emissions. There SHOULD however STILL be air going from your air pump, to your exhaust, causing your 5th and 6th ports to open. If not, you are going to lose a lot of the high rpm power. (bye bye rx7 feeling)
The air goes form the air pump, through the huge valve thing, to the back of the valve thing, out a hose to the little metal pipe with a restrictor in it. That pipe also should be connected to your 5th and 6th port actuators.
"Apparently the air injection system is not injecting any air into the exhaust and venting it constantly"
So if its just venting, either, you are missing the hose that goes on the valve thing between the 5+6 actuators, and or, the one that is behind it that routs it to the exhaust to give it some nice fresh oxygen for some pretty flames. It has been a while since I played with the little dinky NA (lol) but the pipe going out the side instead of out he back should go to the front of the car to a silencer. I removed mine a few days ago. That one really won't effect emissions.

so... what about switching the rotor housings? does it affect anything really? My dad just looked at the spare ones we now have and says he can't see any difference between them.
*is so confused*
Oh, though they did see that I routed a couple of the hoses wrong right around the 5&6th port area. We'll see what they say in the morrow.

hehe kk. The housings .... um.......only have the holes on the bottom that matter. (where the exhaust is) if I remember correction. I never payed attention to emissions stuff because it was gone after my second motor. (like 3 weeks after I got my 7) haha

Off to yakima I go. Scrims, Text me and remind me sunday morning or something to pick up that part. My mind is 10 places at once right now, and that would help your chances of me remembering and bringing it back with me a lot.
back in pullman... WITH MY 7
but i has a list of things i need to fix....
.squeaky break
.oil is dripping slightly from the fron of my oilpan (i think)
.oil is dripping somehow onto my exhaust and smoking up a storm when at a stand still
.bouncy idle
.air pump is very whiny.
.and my more pressing issue, my voltage reads not quite 14, but "flicks" quite often down to 12v. If I try to use anything more than the radio, voltage drops consistently to 13~13.5v
But yeah. at least it's here
