Welcome! I'm an SA guy myself so I couldn't help you much with your FC, There are alot of guys on that side of the mountians (I'm from Spokane, WA) that really know there stuff so don't hesitate to ask questings, although make sure you do a search of the topic first so we are not rehashing old stuff. Have fun with your 7.

With a well maintained rotary car, it should not cause any problems.
Most of rotary car's significant problem came from engine itself.
So you should ask ex-owner, engine is Mazda orginal from Hiroshima, or rebuild. If so , when? by who?
I recommend you to buy carfax report. It can give you brief history of your car.
And if your area needs emission test, you have to prepare for it. If your car is WA car, you can check your car's past test report at www.emissiontestwa.com

welcome to the club!!! i own an 87 GXL FC , nice to have another FC on the NW forums, I would change the fluids unless previous owner had documented paperwork with info on and of the fluids and when they were last changed...and never hurts to do.

thank everybody well i was thinking the fluids as well i also was thinking about the fule filter because people tend no forget about them. but on another note its good to have cool people for help unlike the honda people where everything is a damn secret.

if you're going to the trouble of doing a fuel filter, you should try to check/watch the fuel pulsation dampener. then you can do the general spark plugs/wires. you'll want to use the ngk bur7eq and bur9eq (2 of each). also, be on the watch that the rubber mounts and suspension parts (bushings) aren't rotting out. and check out little electronic things like the sunroof and the switches. while your at it changes the fluids, hit the tranny and differential oil. they've probably never been changed. it's the perfect time to switch to redline synthetics. if i think of anything else, i'll post it.
