New Racetrack Construction Update
Some of you already know about the track being built in Grass Valley:

Here's a construction update that I just received:
The attached PDF's have pics.
You'll have to DL the zip files to see the PDF files, as the PDF's were a bit over the size restriction for the forum.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
OCTOBER 26, 2008
As of sunday night two laps of three are complete. the third is scheduled to go down monday the 27th.
The track width is ten meters of high grade polymer modified asphalt, produced on site, carefully laid and well compacted. in short, we are very pleased with the results and hope you will be too.
Lots of far more mundane work remains to be done before the facility is ready for opperations, and the full build out will take time, but the goal of asphalt in '08' has been met. we look forward to a full season in 2009.
As always you may forward this update without restriction.

lol I couldn't stand watching the 10 min helmet cam video ... but for some reason I couldn't turn away.
Had to be the music. lol
Looking good. Will be nice to have another option to focus my aggression.
The half pipe looks nasty fun.

Track is open today for the volunteers and workers. Sunday 11-23 will be the first official track day. A few customers are heading over to get some track time and to be instructors. From what I hear the run off area need to be finished but all track surfaces and all track configurations are done! Looking forward to the new season.
Okay this info and photos are from www.sportbikes.ws, dirtburch is one lucky SOB!!

From DirtBurch, a Cascade Tracktime instructor:
"Alright folks,,
This is one very interesting road course. There is nothing like it that I have ridden on... Not Sears, Not Willow, Not T Hill, Not Miller, Not SIR, Not PIR,.. it is amazing. Iverson, you nailed it,, skating the pool you didn't have permission to skate all day,, I just couldn't believe it was real,, that someone actually made it reality! We owe annonymous a debt of grattitude, BIG TIME.
All I can say is it is the "FIELD OF DREAMS" for motorcycle riders. You guys and gals will feel the force and be left wanting more at the end of the day. Oregon Raceway Park is.. the real un-ridden round, dream on."
The elevation change per lap is 450ft!

It's been a few months since reading about it, but the business plan for that track has been in a state of flux.
I just took a look at their website, and they haven't actually laid out the course yet, much less started paving.
Time will tell.
Friggen sweet!
I would love a chance to get down there and ride this bad boy. Although I have to say that I think I'd do it on my bike though, truth be told, the 7 has enough trouble as it is. :P

Wow, nice elevation changes. I could see a lot of offs if you don't really "know" the track and get caught up in a steep corner. Good stuff. Excited.
