need tranny serviced in the Tacoma WA area.

hello all,
im a new owner of an fd and was wondering if anyone can recommend a transmission shop in the Tacoma, WA area. I own a 93 RX7 5spd with 130,000 miles on it and bought it non running don't know if the tranny is no good or what but if anyone could respond and let me know of a place that has serviced rx7 tranny's and has a good rep let me know. Don't want to take the chance and put in the newly rebuilt engine and find out that the tranny is no good. that would suck.

who is rebuilding your engine? I would ask them for an opinion. i dont think that you can get an accurate idea of the tranny condition without a running motor (unless the input shaft wont turn or there are obvious nast noises when you turn the shaft)....i guess that you could collect the oil from the transmission and send it to be analyzed....that would give you some idea, but I dont know how expensive that would be-(less than an exploratory tear down, i would bet

My brother is flying up from FL, he will be doing the port and polish (mild streetport). he has no connections here in WA on tranny work. but as much as im spending on the engine i think that it would be the best thing to do just have them rebuilt it replacing all gears and bearing. does anyone know where i can get the rebuild for an fd 5spd tranny so all i have to do is pay the transmission shop only the labor?

Neil w/ Pinnacle Mazda might be able to hook you up.

If you go over to Nopistons.com he is on there. His SN is raincrow.

Hope this helps,
