need some help with my swap

so here's where i'm at: engine's in, it's bolted together as high as the LIM, i have the radiator and oil cooler installed, but i'm stuck on the vaccum nightmare. i don't need any emissions equipment and i just want to bolt the rest together and get it running (then move onto my transmission problem, i pushed the clutch pedal down and it didn't come back)...

anyhoo... if anyone who knows -SEs and FCs ok, from a vaccum and electrics point of view, wants to swing by and lend a hand, i'll buy lunch and beer.

i'm pretty much stumped at this point.

Just one tip about the fc vacuum system in case you try tackling this yourself again. After full emissions and vac rack removal (all the **** under the manifolds) you will have 2 things that still need vac. These are the FPR and the pressure sensor. The FPR can hook straight to one of the 3 nipples (choose one of the smaller ones, there are 2) on the dynamic chamber. Then, on the other small nipple on the dynamic chamber run a vac line to the nipple on the INSIDE of the lower intake manifold that is in the middle. This is to feed where the pressure sensor normally hooks, IE the outside nipple on the lower intake manifold in the very middle of it. You're basically taking a vac source from the dynamic chamber and feeding it into the LIM, and then out the LIM into the pressure sensor, if that makes sense.

EVERYTHING else can be capped and forgotten. I suggest you keep your pcv otherwise hook up a catch can, you'll get foam/condensation in your oil system otherwise.

Hope that helps, now I'm off to school.

You can come out and finger my stock S3 motor sitting on the ground. It has all rats nest vacuum lines still attached.

I'll try and take some pictures but sometimes that is unhelpful.

what you need to do is take everything above the lim off and attach a 48dco. That'll solve all your problems...

Secondary fuel rail? I think you're talking about the stock FPR (fuel pressure regulator), don't cap that! Hook it up to the dynamic chamber like I described above. Unless you're talking about something else? Got a pic?

RX7club switched service people and **** is all fucked up. There are no email notifications for anything, proxy errors, and searching issues happening. They're still trying to transfer all the old stuff over to the new service and fix all the bugs

sorry i should have specified. it's actually on the single gsl-se fuel rail.

it's kind of like this:

so i can just run that to the dynamic chamber?

also, while we're on the subject, can you draw a picture of where the other vaccum from the dynamic chamber goes? you can upload it here: http://www.redhavana.net/upload (password: "fbrules")

here's another question: after putting the new clutch on the engine, mating it with the trans, and bolting the engine in, my clutch pedal drops to the floor and stays there. any common causes to this that i should start looking at? i'm ever so excited to take the transmission off.

Open the service plates and look to see if the fork makes contact with the throw out bearing? Sometimes it misses and your clutch pedal will not return. I’ve done this a few times.

I’ll look at my motor when I get home and I’ll let you know about those fuel rail vacuum lines.

if the fork isn't making contact with the TOB, what is the solution? remove trans and re-mate?

You will want to connect the hose that goes from the spider to the dynamic chamber if you are keeping the OMP. There should be a couple nipples underneath the vac spider in your picture. The larger is for the sub-zero fluid injection and the smaller is the air bleed socket (this connects to the dynamic chamber). The two vac lines near your block off plate are for the ACV, so you can cap them. Then there is a small nipple on the back of the LIM that goes to the back pressure tube for the 5/6 port accuators.

This may help some:
