Need some basic services

Hey there guys.

Been a while for me (no money, no insurance, no fun).

I've had my FD sitting in my driveway for a very long time now (making sure I run it every couple months). Anywho, now that I'm getting married, my future wife and I have decided to use the Rex again (insurance costs are dropping from $250/mo. to $95 due to a couple of factors). Well, I started it up and ran it around the block after adding some oil and some coolant (both were at tolerable levels anyway, but I wanted to be safe). The car drove well (a little rough due to inactivity, but good), but when I got home I noticed coolant dripping from pretty much right next to the passenger side headlight. It increased to a stream of coolant when I shut the car down and stopped altogether about 7 mins after shutdown. No high temps and no coolant light the whole time, but I don't have the means to trace the leak to its source (no ramps or jacks, swamped with work and needing the car runnable within 9 days).

So, the reason I posted this in this forum is to ask you guys if there is a mechanic on the west side of Portland (Beaverton area) who could do a good checkup on my vehicle. I checked the sticky list, but most of those places are performance shops and are far away (can I compromise performance expertise for closer location?).

If anybody can offer any help with my car problem, or at least point me in the direction of a good mechanic, please let me know.

Thanks a bunch

Probably a hose possibly got brittle from sitting or just popped, split, cracked, etc. Most any local radiator shop should be able to diagnose the source of the leak and get it fixed. If you have a way fo towing it to where you would like it looked at then that would be advisable just to avoid the chance of doing further damage.

Check the tank that is on the passenger side behind the headlight....that might be the source of your problem. Ie. You might just have a cracked tank.

Wish I could help on the shop...sorry.
